Galeton Christmas Tour Includes Several Historic Places

This year's annual Holly Trail Christmas House Tour, sponsored by the Galeton Business and Professional Women's club, will include 6 locations.

Oak Hall Bed and Breakfast, formerly the Oak Hall School for Boys is located along the route on Rt. 449. Oak Hall was built in 1905 was purchased by the Wingo family in 1947. It then became the Oak Hall School for Boys and remained open until 1974.

In 2000, currently owners Kenneth and Marcia Wingo, converted it to the beautiful Bed and Breakfast it is today. Marcia decorates extensively for the holidays and her collection of hundreds of Santa is always a delight.

Just up the road from Oak Hall and also on the tour is the All Saints Church. This beautiful gothic style church was built with native stone and is styled to resemble and English country church. The church also includes a checkerboard marble floor and stained glass windows made in London, England.
Four more locations within easy driving distance are also included on this year's tour. A map and driving instructions are included with each purchased ticket.

Advance tickets sales are now going on and are available at Galeton Drug, Delores Potter Beauty Salon or by calling Barbara Welfling at 814-435-6616. Advance tickets are $8.00 and then $10.00 on the day of the event.

Event day tickets will be available at the Galeton Public Library where Holiday refreshments will be offered as well. The tour is held rain, snow or shine on Sunday, December 14 from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm.

Proceeds benefit the Elinor A. Martin Education Fund as well as several Galeton Community projects.
