PITT-BRADFORD ADMISSIONS OFFICE PLANS OPEN HOUSE NOV. 8

BRADFORD, Pa. – The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford’s Office of
Admissions will hold an open house for high school seniors Saturday, Nov. 8.

Registration begins at 9 a.m. in the lobby of Hanley Library, followed by a continental breakfast and time to meet faculty and staff members at Blaisdell Hall.

“One of the things that makes the open house such a special event is the chance for prospective students and parents to meet many members of the faculty and staff,” said Vicky Pingie, associate director of admissions.

Dr. Livingston Alexander, president, will welcome students, and Jeff Guterman, associate professor of communications and chairman of the Division of Communication and the Arts, will provide an overview of the academic program.

Parents and prospective students will be split up for the information sessions on academics and student life.

A student panel organized by Student Government Association president Jessica Visseau and Student Activities Council president Lyndon Orinion will answer questions about student life.

In addition to Visseau, a social studies education major from Shinglehouse, and Orinion, an engineering major from Washington, D.C., students on the panel include Nuwangi Dias, a biology major from Kanata, Ontario; Jasmine Iddings, an English major from Locust Gap; Christopher Hooks, a health and physical education major from Elmira, N.Y.; John Olearnick, a history-political science major from Mount Carmel; and Sherard Thorne, a human relations and sociology major from Washington, D.C.

Students and parents will have a chance to eat brunch on campus, take a tour and learn more about the admissions and financial aid processes from director of admissions Alex Nazemetz.

Registration is appreciated, but not required. For more information or to register, call 1-814-362-7555 or 1-800-872-1787 or go to www. upb.pitt.edu and click on the admissions icon at the bottom of the page.
