BRADFORD, Pa. – Public health officials from across Western New York and Pennsylvania will meet at the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford Monday, Nov. 24, to discuss overcoming the barriers posed by their shared border.

The Cross Border Collaboration Conference is being co-sponsored by the Western New York Public Health Alliance Rural Advanced Practice Center and the Pitt-Bradford Center for Rural Health Practice.

The conference is the second meeting in a series to address issues related to public health emergencies that could affect citizens on both sides of the state border, including Allegany, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, McKean, Potter, Erie and Warren counties, the Seneca Nation of Indians and Allegany (N.Y.) State Park.

The conference will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Frame-Westerberg Commons and is open to the public. Lunch is included.

The conference will include discussions about real or perceived communication problems across state lines during an emergency or communicable disease outbreak. There will also be a discussion about existing Emergency Management Assistance Compacts and agreements.
