Donations Welcome For ‘Spirit Of Giving’

Donations Welcome For ‘Spirit Of Giving’

Winners of the Potter County employees’ “Spirit of Giving 2008” charity campaign will be drawn on Friday afternoon, Dec. 19, during a Christmas party at the F. W. Gunzburger County Office Building. The public is encouraged to support the campaign. Proceeds this year will support Christmas House.

Area businesses and individuals may donate quality items to be sold through a Chinese auction. Donations that are now up for auction are being displayed in the main hallway of the Gunzburger Building. Shown is one of the display cases, where donations such as a framed Curt Weinhold photograph of the courthouse, certificates for a free oil change, newspaper subscriptions, handmade or homemade items and a tool kit can be viewed. (Click on photo for a larger version of the image).

Tickets, available at 50 cents each or three for $1.00, can be purchased (by the public and by employees) at the Voter Registration/Elections Office in the Gunzburger Building and used to enter drawings for any of the displayed items. Businesses and individuals may donate items for the Chinese auction by contacting Judy Eckert at the Voter Registration/Elections Office, 274-8467.

Christmas House is an all-volunteer organization that relies on donations to help needy Potter County residents not only during the holiday season, but all year long. This year’s demand for winter clothing, assistance with utility bills, and other basic needs has been overwhelming.
