Harry R. Ebenshade, 81, Galeton. PA Formerly Lancaster, PA

Harry R. Ebenshade, 81, of Galeton, PA, formerly of Lancaster, PA, died on Saturday, November 29, 2008, at Soldiers & Sailors Hospital, Wellsboro.

Born January 27, 1927 in Strasburg, PA, he was the son of the late Isaac R. and Anna (Pierce) Esbenshade. Mr. Esbenshade was a veteran having served with the United States Army.

On January 30, 1954 in Lancaster, he married the former Margaret A. Schlotzhauer, who survives.

Harry worked for 37 years and retired from Posey Iron Works in Lancaster. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Margaret A. Esbenshade, Galeton; a daughter, Teresa (Melvin) Nelson, Mechanicsburg, PA; three grandchildren, Sharon (Eric) Ulsh, Mechanicsburg, Sandra (Tom) Maher, Sewickley, PA, Joseph Nelson, Mechanicsburg; a great-grandson, Eli Ulsh; a brother, Roy (Diane) Esbenshade, Lancaster; two sisters, M. Jane (Walter) Mull and Arlene L. Leibley, both of Lancaster; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Hess Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Collins Chapel, Galeton, on Wednesday, December 3, 2008, from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. with Funeral Services following at 11:00 a.m. The Rev. Karl W. O. Runser, III will officiate.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Gale Hose Ambulance Association or to the Soldiers & Sailors Hospital, Wellsboro.
