It's Time To License The Dog Again

Dog Owners Face Jan. 1 Deadline

CB101474Potter County Treasurer Krista Miller reminds dog owners that they must apply for their 2009 dog licenses before the Thursday, Jan. 1, deadline. Dog licenses are on sale over the counter at the Treasurer’s Office at the F. W Gunzburger County Office Building, 1 North Main Street, Coudersport.

State law requires that all dogs three months or older be licensed by Jan. 1 each year. An annual license costs $8.00 and a lifetime license is $51. If the license is for a spayed or neutered animal, the annual fee is $6.00 and a lifetime license is $31. Discounts are available to senior citizens and the disabled.

Failure to license a dog is a summary offense and a maximum fine of $300 for each unlicensed dog may be levied. Fees from dog license sales are used to fund the state’s Bureau of Dog Law Enforcement.

Additional information is available from Treasurer Miller’s office at (814) 274-9775. Potter County Today

Oh Great... here it goes again, they are going to make us register our dogs!? Whats next, we will have to register people? We will all have numbers and have to pay taxes and have jobs! We cant take that kind of oppression. I for one refuse to register my little Shnoogums!

We are already registered idiot...it's called the Social Security system. I'm sure that Uncle Sam has your number!! The only way to avoid paying taxes in the USA is to be an illegal alien.

Funny stuff! Hey, ain't it a good thing that we didn't fall for that Republican/fat cat ploy in '07 to privatize Social Security? Looking at what happened to the market after Congress WISELY shot down that scheme, it would have been a disaster. Thank you to the Democrats and to those thinking, responsible Republicans who saw through it and shot it down.
