Two Former Coudersport Residents Charged with Burglary
Two former Coudersport residents have been charged in connection to a burglary last May 9 at Mahaley’s Track Repair on Route 49. Robert Muirhead, 19, now of DuBois was arraigned before District Judge Barbara Easton on charges of burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary, theft and criminal mischief. He was released on $35,000 unsecured bail pending further court action. His co-defendant, Evan Heller, also 19, now of Bellefonte was arrested by warrant while incarcerated in the Centre County Jail. Police say a video arraignment is being coordinated. Authorities say that two chainsaws taken during the burglary were recently recovered at a Smethport residence and had been taken there by one of the suspects. The thieves threw a rock through the front door of the business to gain entry. The rock damaged a copy machine. Three new Stihl Chainsaws and a new Stihl leafblower were taken from the business along with money and stamps from the cash register.

Mills Resident Charged with Violating Gun Laws
Coudersport-based state police have charged a Mills resident with violating gun laws. Authorities say the arrest of 43 year old James Pollock came after they answsered a call to his home on October 25 and allegedly found him to be “in control” of a gun. As a felon convicted in New York State, Pollock is not allowed to own, possess or exercise control over a firearm. Pollock was released on $1500 unsecured bail pending a preliminary hearing.

Smethport driver escapes injury after nodding off
A sleepy Smethport driver escaped injury in a one-vehicle crash early Tuesday morning on Route 46 near the Bordell Crossing in Keating Township, McKean County. Troopers said 24 year old Brian Miller was headed east when he nodded off at about 3:15 a.m. and allowed his Chevrolet sedan to go off the road and strike several trees. Miller was wearing a seatbelt.
