PennDOT Urges Caution On Roads

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation issued an advisory urging motorists to use caution through tonight and tomorrow morning and watch wet roads and areas that might refreeze after the sun sets.

Wet roads and excess speeds can lead to hydroplaning, and as temperatures fall after darks, icy areas can be expected. Motorists are urged to watch for black ice tonight and into Thursday. If they believe conditions are deteriorating, the best course of action is to reduce speed and not tailgate.

Motorists also are reminded that when driving in fog, they should use their headlights on low beam.
