Why doesn't the county and their employees have a party on their own time? Can you imagine this headline, "American Airlines shuts down at noon Friday for an employee Christmas Party." Party on your own time people, Friday afternoon you work for us.

What, we pay bthem to party? Who is responsible for this?Let's fire or vote them out of office. Please tell us who's idea this is so we can get him or her off our taxpayer payroll.

With these hard economic times, lets party on our own time.

Yea.. have a party on us.. It's the least we could do for you .. Look at everything you're doing for us! Hope you enjoyed your party while we were punched in!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS !!

I'm not the biggest fan of government in general. Nevertheless, give me a break. It's fine the county employees are having a holiday party. If you have an axe to grind, I would focus on legitimate issues.

I guess an honest days work for an honest days pay doesn't apply to our Govt employees. I used to sub for a contractor that would throw a dime at his employees if he caught them chatting on the phone. He would say, "Call them on your own dime."

Mr. JMHO,

What Nazi Country where you born and raised in?? It's a CHRISTMAS PARTY......you know, cause it's CHRISTMAS!! Since you are so concerned with your "dime," and taxpayers dollars, please call American Airlines, since they don't have these ridiculous Christmas Parties, get a flight to whatever Country that taught you to have absolutely no time for anything that might boost morale or combine a group of people that work their butts of for an entire year to get together so that they can celebrate Christmas, and hop the next flight. Please have a safe and fast journey, and yes Merry Christmas!!

Hey Anon,

I'm sure you're also the kind of quality person that sees nothing wrong with running some personal errands on the company time either, do ya?

JMHO,

Are you kidding me? I do find something very wrong with that. But I refuse to bend to your butt headed idea that a Christmas party, for any organization is inappropriate, privately owned or in this case, for County Employees. What brain cell in your head considers an employee doing personal errands on company time the equivalent of an organization getting it's employees together to wish them a Merry Christmas and show them a little appreciation??

The absolute genius statements that are made on this sight never cease to amaze me!! Congrats.....you've made it to the top of the list!!

A waste of time is a waste of time. The company shows the people their appreciation every payday. Businesses don't stay in business and operate on moral alone...workers in this day and age should just be happy that they have a job in the first place, because if they don't like their job, there are dozens of others waiting to jump into that position for them. JMHO....you are right....government offices get enough time off as it is without wasting our tax dollars on a party....probably one that we footed the bill for anyway.

actually, all party supplies were supplied by the EMPLOYEES themselfs, not the tax payers.
take into concideration the weather, and all the closings and such, they probably were going to close early any way. also take into concideration that it was an "after hours party" which means that all were OFF THE PAYROLL = NOT GETTING PAYED.
besides , look at the Elementary School, they had their party as well, next ya'll gonna start bitchin about that to?
GET A LIFE, AND GROW UP.
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year 2 all

First off Anon, you need to "chill-ax" a bit. I'm sure your an honest, hard working county employee, the likes of which we obviously need more of but... The "organization" you speak of is our Govt. I couldn't care less if a private business held a Christmas party for their employees or not. As a matter of fact, I actually had a Christmas Party for my employees AND gave them a Christmas bonus. It was my choice and it didn't cost you or any other taxpayer a cent. If, in fact it is true what another Anon posted, the party was "OFF THE PAYROLL = NOT GETTING PAYED" then I really don't have a problem with it. I would just hate to see our hard earned tax dollars spent so the county can "par-tayy."

So Anon, go have some eggnog and maybe toss a shot of vodka in it. You really need to chill. Oh, and by the way, Merry Christmas to ya! Seriously.

To JMHO

I can't believe the negative comments about a Christmas Party. First, get all your facts straight before you rant and rave!
Second if you want to gripe about the county gov. pick something that is important and then do something about it. (like creating positions and hiring people without opening it up to the community) then go to a meeting and make your voice heard. (I commend you if you did, but I rather doubt it.)

Anonymous said...

Maybe then, JMHO, the best suggestion would be is that you, along with Mr. Negative, have all the facts straight before you leave your comments on here that only take away from anything positive that might come out of this County. We all know those kind of things are few and far between!!

I've been to more planning com. meetings than I care to remember. Thanks for the good advise about making my voice heard, but I already do that. I'm done with this now.

Gets hot? Get real. It's a blog. I've already made all of my points so it's a dead post.

I'm not! The post specifically states that the offices are closing early to accomadate a party. What about the people out there that need to have some service done for them before the holidays? The county employees are there for the taxpayers...if they want to have a group party, then let them have it after 5pm or on the weekend......

Happy Holidays
