Desperate people take desperate measures.

Any updates on this?

Maybe the increase price of utilities caused this to happen. Hope not, but we never know.

The utility worker is just doing his/her job they have no control over the prices. With the economy the way it is and increase prices people will continue to try desperate measures. There should be a safer way to approach these people before someone does get hurt.

I normally would not respond to comments on this site because I do feel that people have the right to express their opinions, however desparate or not it is NOT OK to pull a gun on a utility worker or anyone else for that matter. They are only doing their job as required. That individual did not raise the rates and the worker certainly did not force that women to not pay her bill. Think about that workers family and what would have happened to them if that women shot him. No amount of desparation in my opinion is worth taking the life of another human being.

If you do not feel people have the right to express their opinions on this site, then why are YOU responding? Why are you reading people's opinions?

There is help for families in need, such as LIHEAP, SALVATION ARMY, LOCAL CHURCHES. LIHEAP offers CASH GRANTS starting at $300.00 and going up based on the family income. They have a CRISIS GRANT up to $800.00. If you do not qualify for any of these programs, you should call your utility when you have a past due amount and make a payment arrangement. You will find that your utility will be willing to work something out for you. They are in the business of selling you a service, they do not want to disconnect you.
