yeah really ballzy to recall the fire dept before anyone is onscene

there was a report from one of dept 39's assistant chiefs of one patient. no need more multiply depts. doesnt that make sense. why put more ems and fire personall in the streets on bad roads when only one dept is needed.

Anonymous said...

it sure sounded like they recalled the other dept before anyone was on scene OR before any trucks responded with all the better safe then sorry talk on this site from the search just seems like one more bad call after another. OR is it a political issue with the dept?

QUIT complaning ANONYMOUS GREAT JOB CHEIF 39

Nobody recalls anything until one of the CHIEFS are on scene. This is what took place. The job was done efficiently as we have been trained. To all those out there in scannerville, if you don't know whats going on, KEEP IT SHUT!!! It just shows the immaturity, and stupidity on your part.

In this area of Hebron Twp. Dept. 39 has Coudy (48) on our first alarm response for report of a working structure or multiple car MVAs. Dispach repotred a single car MVA with 2 posable injuries.
(Dept 48 should not have been dispached in the first place) first firefighter on scene reported one walking wounded so the Chief recalled 48 so they would be availabe in there own fire district if needed.

The scene of th MVA was 9 miles from Shinglehouse and 14 from Coudy (pluse Greenman Hill)

AVIATOR58 AKA chief 39-30

What the heck? Why don't you whining idiots just shut up and let the volunteers do their jobs? Why do you have to be so critical of what they do every time there is a post on this site? Those people are out there in the worst of weather doing a great job and all you people do is criticize all these little details. These people are well trained and qualified to make decisions on the fly and all they need from us is a good, hearty pat on the back! Thank you EMS and Firesatation personnel! The vast majority of the people in the county think you are all doing a great job!

I have an idea -- don't buy a new scanner -- JOIN THE FIRE DEPT where you can become a professional person, if you can follow the HIPPA rules, take the required training, respond at anytime of the day or night to whatever the situation is that you might be called to. Sometimes the call can be for a relative, close friend, -- Quit your belly aching! Some station in Potter County may be getting new members so print some applications, we apparently have new people wanting to join so they can get it all straight but wait til they get on scene and it is a fatality of someone they know, oh boy, hold it together and later get the professional help you might need to deal with it!!

Lets get real said...

First off no one was on scene when department 48 was recalled. And second off everyone just needs to shut up. and grow up. Its kind of pathetic that lately when people post things on solomons blog about fire calls the blog ends up bashing one department or another. People dont realize how much time and commitment it takes to be in a fire dept or to risk your life. I think we should be greatful that there are people out there willing to do so. And if chief 39 thought it was best to recall dept 48 then lets respect that. The roads were terrible last night it would have been a waste for dept 48 to drive all the way over the hill when dept 39 had a straight shot to the scene. Lets just put all the bashing to rest and and all the fighting to a rest. Thank you dept 39 and 48 for serving our community.

LETS GET REAL
Its about time that someone said it. I totally agree with your post If 39 new they could handle it then we need to respect that and them them do there job because they are the onhes trained to do what they have to do. Not all these busy bodies that are on here running there mouth with no known training.Let them do what they got to do. If anything when you see one of our fine firefighters in the store or on the street then instead of blogging on here walk up to them shake there hand pat them on the back and say thank you fo all they do. I personally would do it myself but I do not know how to get the training that I need. And If I were doing it I would rather you walk away and not say anything than to talk all your bs on here. THANKS TO ALL OUR PROFESSIONAL VOLUNTEERS IN Potter county.

Everyone needs to keep in mind that althougvh Jim does a great jon of reporting the news when it happens, and as accurately as possible, the posts that follow are merely the opinions of those who lay in wait for another topic to start something. When Jim sees something within those comments, that he deems accurate and newsworthy, he will actually post it with the original topic on the main page. I applaud his efforts to keep the community informed and, as much as I hate to say it, you also have to give him credit for allowing even the bitterest and most ill informed to give their opinion. It is not always pretty, but it is their right, no matter how ignorant they may sound. Some have personal agendas and vendettas against a person or an organization, and others are just miserable and are not happy until everyone is bickering and miserable with them. Their opinions are neither right nor wrong, they are their opinions and should be treated as such. Lowering ourselves to their level only feeds the fire and makes it more enjoyable for them. If they really gave a damn, they would do something about it rather than just post time after time.
Those who can, do.
Those who can't, criticize those who can.

Hats off to all volunteers wherever they are, the world is a greater place because of them.

END RANT

As a volunteer EMT, I would like to thank all of the people out there that support the volunteer Fire Companies. Without you, we wouldn't be able to "make" it. I have to say it's very disappointing to see that there are people out there that don't appreciate what we do, BUT that is their right. Unfortunately, you will never be able to please everyone but I can honestly say that I have a new respect for FF's and EMS personel since joining my local fire dept just a year ago. It is one of the hardest yet rewarding "jobs" I have ever had. Whether it is physically helping someone or just comforting them, I am grateful to be given this chance. Sometimes the patient is your neighbor or relative and even though they frown on us working on family and friends, there is such a shortage of volunteers that it is nescesary sometimes. If you would like to join your local fire company, just ask one ot the FF's or EMS for an application or go to an event and ask for one. Once you join, the fire dept. will set you up with the information to get the proper training. Alot of Fire companies have "Pumper Practice" at least once a week so you can get to know the vehicles and equiptment. They also will sponsor you so you dont have to pay for the training. I do not know of any company that has too many
volunteers, so every little bit helps. We can never have enough people to fight fires, run ambulance calls, direct traffic at accidents, work Bingo and different events, and even make coffee and a hot meal for the people who have been out at a call all night. It is like a big family, sure you have your fights and people that don't like each other, but you know that in the end, they still "have your back".

So I would like to thank everyone for your support, not just the volunteers but the community as well. Whether you pull over for a vehicle with a blue or red light, come to our events, make donations, fight fires, do CPR on a 5- year old, or spend time in the kitchen making food and coffee for us, YOU ARE ALL HEROES in my book. THANK YOU!!!!!!!

I wonder how many of the negative comments are actually coming from other fireman? I am a fireman and in my area not that many Scanner landers actually pay much attention. Huh makes you wonder.

By recalling dept. 48 it saved air time and it saved tioga countys tiem by toneing them out multiple times and well face it thier not the fastest responders in the county. Great Job chief 39 for saving tioga county time by recalling 48

Dept.39 had a firefighter on scene. And he called chief 39 and told him that the vehicle was off the road and victim was out.So chief 39 recalled Dept.48. So scanner land people turn your hearing aides up! GREAT JOB DEPT 39

Does anyone know who it was?

Actually E48-2 was pulling out the door when D48 was recalled... therefor we would have responded faster then 39... To there own call... Hummmm...

My earlier comment has stating that the people bithing are other fireman has just been proved with that last comment

WHOOO HOOO... GOLD STAR FOR YOU!!!!!!!!

Wow you guys are pathetic. I am a volunteer firefighter for the local company and I know how quickly station 39 can respond at least they can make it out the door by the 10 minute mark. It was their decision to recall dept. 48. RESPECT THAT! From what i see, people are just jealous that station 39 get's the calls that they can handle themselves. Great Job Station 39! The patient got out alive and safe that's all anybody should be caring about. If bashing other stations is what you people call fun, i cant immagine what your sorry pathetic lives are made of. But i'm sure i can guess. Sitting around waiting for your tones to go off because you have nothing better to do? Humm.. maybe.. just maybe that's a sign to go out and get a girlfriend or boyfriend or go home and see your wife or husband.
--> I bow down to all of the firefighters and Emt's out ther who risk their lives to save other people's. Putting your lives at risk for somebody that you dispise or don't even know. i bow down to you and so should everybody else<---for everybody who don't, i hope that someday you will need this fine ladies and gentlemen and they give you what you deserve.

This is for all of the Firefighter that post on here...

There is a website called "The Watch Desk"... It is a forum based site that allows us to start our own topics and discuss what we want...

Im not trying to take ANYTHING away from this site... Just giving us another place to have a more in depth conversation about issues that ALL of the Fire Depts are having... Wether it is with each other on a call... something in our own dept... something that is going on with Tioga... ANYTHING....

I would really like to see us use the watch desk as there is alot of information posted elsewhere on that site that maybe just maybe some of us will learn from...

Thanks and hope to talk to some of you soon...

The following is a link directly to the Potter County forum...

I'm not so sure it was other fireman complaining or bi#ching as you put it. I think it only became personal when Dept 39 started bashing Dept 48's response time. it seemed rude and inconsiderate if you ask me. I have no idea about response times. but I do know that people work in Coudy and maybe its just harder for them to leave there job to go to a fire call. I am not a firefighter. it is something I just could never do.. but I do Thank all the men and woman from all the Depts. for all the do to keep us safe.
