Tom Kazokas’ quality of life literally depends on the quality of the Susquehanna River.

With a home along the river in Eaton Township, Kazokas continues to be concerned about wastewater from natural gas drilling, despite recent attempts by the industry and the state to address the issue.

“I’ll be honest, I don’t trust the state Department of Environmental Protection,” Kazokas said.

Kazokas’ home is located near where Mehoopany resident William Earnshaw wants to build a brine treatment plant under the name, North Branch Processing. More...

Don't ever trust the State, any branches of it!

Do not complain about the cost to heat a home if you do not want more drilling in this state. Keep on complaining and these companies will go else where and take there jobs and revenue with them. Run them out and we can keep piping in gas from other states while we sit on our thumbs here with one the the biggest shale fields in the country untapped. Keep it up folks!

It really doesn't matter if we pipe the gas from another state...the price is still outrageous! I would rather have uncontaminaed water to drink and pay the price than be drinking contaminated water and still pay the prices for gas. It all comes from the same major deposit anyway ....

You can almost bet that the revenue and product that is pulled from the
earth in our beloved state will just be a money maker for the commonwealth.Look up the last word in this sentence.I can't wait until they start blaming all the deer for consuming the natural gas just like they say about the natural trees.

I'm sure they have not a clue what, if any problems will happen by tapping into the the shale. Go that deep, take the gas pressure out and what will happen? Maybe nothing, just a thought. I'm for drilling just not sure how much.

Drill, drill, and more drill. I say keep it coming. Let us live our lives in relative comfort for a reduced cost. I'm sure the enviro weenies have people watching these companies and will file every lawsuit they can think of on the behave of the red-speckled-teetsy-fly in the near future. It will not matter as someone somewhere will start a nuclear war in my lifetime, I am sure of it.

We won't have to worry about a war if they keep drilling and hydrofracking....we will all be sick from the contaminated water.
