Galeton Teen May be Charged with DUI
A Galeton teen may be charged with DUI for a one-vehicle crash taking place New Year’s morning just before 9:00 a.m. State police said 18 year old Christin Piccone lost control of her Jeep Wrangler on the snow-covered West Branch Road while negotiating a left hand curve. The Jeep slid off the road and hit a Tri-County Electric pole and sheared it off. The pole cropped onto the hood of the Jeep. Piccone escaped injury but was taken to Charles Cole Hospital for chemical testing.

Another Galeton Resident Unhurt in One-Vehicle Crash
Another Galeton resident escaped injury in a one-vehicle crash New Year’s night on Route 6 in Delmar Township, Tioga County. State police said Douglas Droppa lost control of his Ford Taurus when he encountered an icy section of the road on a right hand curve. The compact skidded off the road, hit an embankment with the front corner and continued through a ditch before striking a concrete culvert where it came to rest.

Police Accuse Roulette Woman of Making False Reports
A Roulette woman has been cited for making false reports. Coudersport-based state police allege 63 year old Cheryl Card called their barracks Saturday evening to report that her daughter had been assaulted and that her grandchildren had been taken. Troopers say further investigation revealed that Card had made up the story in order to have state police check on her grandchildren.

Theft of Money From Purse Investigated
Coudersport-based state police are also investigating the theft of some money Friday morning from Downey’s store in Ulysses. Someone reportedly made off with an undisclosed amount of money from a pocketbook inside the store.

Criminal Mischiefs Probed
A Harrison Valley man has been charged with criminal mischief for an incident allegedly taking place early Sunday morning in that village. Troopers say 20 year old Jason Teller damaged a side entrance door belonging to Dusty Brimmer while they argued. A couple of other criminal mischief incidents are being probed by Coudersport-based state police. Vandals smashed the passenger side window on a vehicle owned by Eugene Monroe of Coudersport while it was parked at the Northwoods Tavern in Eulalia Township Sunday morning between 2:45 and 3:00 am. And someone in a passing vehicle threw a beer bottle at the Jean Harstad residence on Costello Road, Austin Saturday night at about 7:30 pm.

Port Allegany Man Charged With Dumping Trash
Kane-based state police have charged 28 year old John Pennick of Port Allegany with scattering rubbish. Authorities claim between November 1 and December 29 Pennick, dumped trash and construction waste on property located along Skyline Drive in Annin Township McKean County owned by Peter Ostrander of Cuba, NY. Happy to hear that they finally charged someone for dumping up here on this hill. It is an ongoing problem for us; they dump, cut cable holding "No Dumping" sign and roll skidder tires down against my home.
