Ron Tubbs Writes.......

Jim, thought you might like to see how the other half lives while you are enjoying all that snow today...I took this picture with my camera phone Thursday from a restaurant at Ft Lauderdale beach.

Ah yes. Ft Lauderdale. I lived in F.L. for 10 years. I'll take the snow.

lived in florida myself for a while...would rather have this beautiful snow too...nothing like the crisp, white, powder...and look at all the majestic splendour.

Thanks for the picture.
I do enjoy our change of seasons here in Potter County.

Yes at one angle of Florida it looks great have him turn around and show the other side. That is where the old lady is being robbed in broad day light. I too have lived there for over twenty years. I will take the snow too.

Green palm trees with Christmas lights, tourists in their shorts on the beach when it is 60 degrees (brrr.), snow birds freaking out when it rains and won't drive over 30 MPH on the freeway, humidity so high that you feel like you have a weight on your chest when you try to breath in the summer, Palmetto bugs, Scorpions, crime, sand in places on your body that should never have sand in them, Hurricanes, Alligators & Water Moccoson's in your back yard, fire ants, salty mist covering my car every morning. Oh yeah, all the things that I loved about Florida still near and dear to my heart. No thanks, I think I will stay right here. Florida is a great place to visit, for a brief period of time.

Let's see..Christmas lights up until March because it's too cold to take them down...humidity is on the west side of FL..south east FL..humidity is less than DC..air comes from Aruba which is a desert island...Palmeto bugs are north fl not south...have been here six yrs and have not seen an alligator nor a water mocossin...but i have seen dozens of rattle snakes in Potter County..I'll take salty mist anytime compared to scraping ice off my windshield in freezing weather.I guess we both have plus and minuses..
