Clearfield Area Township To Consider Restricting Windmills

Pine Twp. officials discuss regulatory ordinance for proposed windmills

By Dianne Byers Staff Writer

The Progress News--Clearfield, PA
Pine Township Supervisors discussed again last night the possibility of drafting an ordinance to regulate construction and operation of windmills in the township.

The board of supervisors has expressed concerns about noise, vehicle traffic associated with installation and maintenance, as well as township residents' safety from broken blades or ice buildup.

A property owner from Greenwood Road attended last night's meeting to inform the board he is against windmills. "They sound like a freight train and when they explode how far will the (debris) go?" he told the supervisors.

The man said he would like to build a camp on his property but has concerns whether he would be able to use nearby cross-country skiing trails because there are plans to erect windmills in close proximity to his property. More...

Wow! It's hard to imagine a Township Board of Supervisors being so concerned about the health and safety of their constituents. Wish we saw more of that concern in particular Potter County townships, ie. Homer, Eulalia, Sweden, & Hebron.

Great idea, outlaw wind turbines.
Drill baby drill, I love to see the land filled with wells and holding tanks. Well water and springs taste much better when a well is drilled near them. IDIOTS

Not saying outlaw. Just have reasonable set backs and noise limits. And I take it you're against natural gas drilling here...I'm not. If you care about the quality of your H2O, industrial wind turbines can cause problems w/ it...more erosion, a lot of roads created, etc...

"more erosion, a lot of roads created, etc..."...

Once again you do not know what you are talking about, does not surprise me!

Any new road work will be done on PRIVATE land, got that?!

it doesn't matter if it's on private land (just like most gas drilling) it can negatively impact H2O quality.

the difference between gas drilling and industrial wind turbines when it comes to private vs. public argument, is gas drilling doesn't involve all of the tax rebates, subsidies, and gov't mandates (so much renewable electricity by year 2018 and so on). maybe the industrial wind turbines are being installed on private land, but they wouldn't be here if you took the gov't incentives out of it.

It's the gov't picking winners and losers in the energy market and like most times when the gov't does this, it doesn't work...are you big fan of ethanol too?

I pray Clara Township approves wind turbines. $$$$$ for me and not for you!

"are you big fan of ethanol too?"

I am a big fan of all clean green energy, you will not get any type of non-polluting energy right, right out of the gate...a work in process is better than what we have now!

Yeah it amazes me how stupid most of the republican supports are. The republican party has screwed up the any shot of green energy this country had with their ethanol and stupid switch grass initiative Bush and crew put together. Now the same stupid republican supports want to shoot down anything the democrats come up with like wind or solar power just out of spite. That is why a lot of people are really starting to hate middle America and rural America or whatever it is called where the republicans get the majority of their voters. Green energy is the way to go and we need to put aside the political difference and start working together. I know it is hard for a lot of the right wing crazies to accept a black man for a president, but you only have you white man president that did such a horrible job to blame.

Boy, what in the heck have you been drinking????

I am a republican and have been all FOR clean green energy FOR YEARS!

I do not think this is a "party line" thing...wind turbines have been being looked into for our area while BUSH was in office, and a whole lot of them have been installed in the USA while Bush was in office, so get off your soap box!!

"I know it is hard for a lot of the right wing crazies to accept a black man for a president"...

Well let me just enlighten YOU...This crap started the very night of the inaugural parties...I viewed a Black rapper on my television slam WHITES..."Now I have a Black President in a White house and I do not have to hear anymore White Lies!" These were his words not mine and this crap started right out of the gate so YOU had better back the bus up there buddy!

As far as I am concerned, the Al Sharptens of the world just keep it up, while some of us have NEVER been predigest he has kept the pot stirred over the years.

Like the polo players that lives have been tainted from a lie (raping a black young lady), where was Al and his buddies when it became known as a lie? But he sure spent a lot of time on the news slamming and smearing before the verdict didn't he?! He has made a career of this crap! Guess she figured out a way to get her education paid for at these young men's expense because Jessie Jackson took care of that for her!

I do not care what color our presidents skin is as long as he does what he ran on to be elected...I have felt the same way for each elected president. BUT in the past it has not all ways held true and I am sure it will not this time either. BECAUSE as he stated on national television "there is not one earmark in this stimulus package"...ya right, we all know better than that now don't we?! Now who is telling "lil white lies"?!

obama has been telling "lil white lies" from the being. He can't even produce a birth certificate proving he is a natural born citizen. He is shredding the Constitution. God help our country. I hope you all enjoy the change you voted for!!

I'll keep my guns and my money, you can keep the "change"!

It takes a lot of fossil fuels to make and transport ethanol. It's wreaked havoc on the food market. I totally disagree 'that a work in progress' is better than what we have now when it turns out to be a big government boondoggle. I'll bet industrial wind turbines yield the same results. And for what it's worth I think you'll find their a lot of GOP supporters in the federal and state legislators of subsidies, tax rebates, and renewable energy mandates. They help all of their buddies and political donors who in the energy industry.

Wow, nothing like putting yourself into a nice little stereotype of ignorance. Where was his mother from again? That’s right she was from Kansas! Pretty sure that makes him a citizen of this country. If you’re going to attack him for things like, extending the amount of time were in Iraq from when he originally said, or his stimulus package, or his choices for cabinet fine, that’s great because he should be. but, let’s try and keep the rest of us from looking as ignorant as you.

He can't produce a birth certificate. What naturual born citizen would have trouble doing that.

2 things on this topic..

I am pretty sure that If your mother is an american citizen then you are in fact an american citizen.

I am also pretty sure that the United states government would notice if they just ellected a non native born citizen to one of the highest offices in the world. They are pretty good at not missing a cent of what i owe in taxes. I don't know where my birth certificate is, does that mean i wasn't born in this country??
