Details Of Recent Collisions Released

Coudersport based state police released details about a couple of collisions taking place last Wednesday during heavy snowfall.

Troopers said the first occurred at about 4:00- p.m. on the Ice Mine Road in Eulalia Township when 17 year old Chelsea Causer of Coudersport lost control of her Dodge Stratus while negotiating a right hand curve on the snow-covered road.

The compact slid into the opposite lane and struck a snowplow operated by Brian Milliron of Roulette. Neither driver was hurt and both units were driven from the scene.

About a half hour later, Earl Hartlaub of Ulysses was traveling down Fox Hill Road in Ulysses Borough when his Chevrolet Silverado went out of control on the snow-covered highway due to bald tires, rotated clockwise 90 degrees and struck the rear of a snowplow driven by Patrick Hilfiger also of Ulysses, then rotated another 90 degrees and struck the front fender of the plow, continued south, rotating another 180 degrees before crossing through the northbound lane and striking a utility pole with the right side before coming to rest against the pole. Both units were driven from the scene and both drivers escaped injury.
