MILES TOWNSHIP — Slowly, methodically, Dan Brigham netted scoops of his money from a concrete tank.

Each silvery load joined the last, dumped on a spreading pile of dead rainbow trout beside the pens of the Elk Creek Fish Hatchery. A measley $1200 fine? C'mon DEP. Get serious. The sooner the DEP clamps down on these polluters, the sooner they will adhere to the law.

one of the biggest contributors to pollution in this country are farmers.

Farms over a certain size (certain number of cattle) should be required to process their waste, or ship the waste to a prcessing facility, just like we have to for human waste. The fecal coliform bacteria is the same and can polute your drinking water just the same.

Isn't there some type of regulation that when farmers spread that liquid manure, that they are supposed to work it into the ground within so many days? If anyone has any info on that, please post comment here. The farmer near me sprays that stuff all over next to my house, but never works it in. It's terrible. I'm afraid it will get into my well water.

HOW MUCH POLLUTION DOES THE FISH FARM PRODUCE. TROUT ARE NOT 100% CLEAN.

How much pollution do humans produce? Every by-product that comes back out of our bodies could be considered pollution. I think you are nit picking now. One persons livlihood has been ruined now to support another persons livlihood......all because on person was too stupid to follow the laws..
