NY Town Considering Wind Moratorium

HARTSVILLE CONSIDERING MORATORIUM ON WIND ENERGY

Canisteo Valley News
Also voted on EON signing AG's "Code of Conduct"

The Town of Hartsville is progressing towards passing a one year moratorium on wind energy, so that the Town can study wind energy.

Also, Hartsville Town Hall has voted to have wind company EON sign Attorney General Andrew Cuomo's Code of Conduct for Wind Companies. Cuomo's code of conduct cracks down on politicians voting for wind projects when those politicians have contracts with wind companies.

Hartsville Board member Michelle Herrnacker abstained from voting on the code of conduct, but board member Ben Ray voted against it. We asked Ben Ray why he voted no on the code of conduct, and Ray had no comment.

I cannot imagine why municipal officials would take the time to perform due diligence on these industrial wind energy projects. Why not just welcome them on in? Hartsville, NY officials should take lessons from Potter County township officials.

All counties and townships have the same mission statements: To protect the Health, Safety, and Welfare of the people. (Welfare is quaility of life, not monatary wealth)

Unfortunately, Our local townships here in Potter County have forgoton this and are reading into the mission statments that Health, Safety and welfare can be over looked if the money is right. Once again, leaders are not supposed to be greedy, but they are obviosly following the example of our State and federal governments.
It makes one wonder how big the envelops under the table are. There is nothing for the townships that has ever been shown to date!!

"It makes one wonder how big the envelops under the table are."

Now I am sure this does not mean what we think it means...hummmmm!

A little cheese with that whine?

I wrote that and I don't think I can get much clearer. There is no other logical reason. There is nothing for the townships to date. there is no electrical savings.
There is nothing. Why don't you try to explain why every township supervisor seems to be hell bent on the destruction of our county without considering the Health , Safety and Welfare of the people?

You see what you want to see...You hear what you want to hear...

Who's hell bent?
Save God's Country loons!

Tell it to Obama...the ones that voted for change are now getting it, he is all for clean green energy and wind turbine's are at the top of his list!

Obama doesn't care what happens. He is doing the things the "Left" wants him to do. Like killing more babies, increasing the welfare for bums, spending our hard earned money on his favorite people (yes, welfare) He is such a looser, just like our Commissioners.

President Obama "killing babies" & "increasing the welfare for bums"...that's quite a jump to the Potter County Commissioners. I fail to see the commonalities.

Maybe you should educate yourself on what Obama believes.

How is it that you find time to write on here when
every minute of your waking hours should be spent
taking care of the children that are here and need your care.

You want all these children and then call them bums, welfares, and throw aways after they have been brought into this world in the worst of environments.
Maybe you ought to get off your butt and start feeding the children so Obama wouldn't have to worry about it. He could spend his time creating more jobs for people like you! You should have had this problem all taken care in the last eight years.

You should be ashamed of yourself and your beliefs.

obama is on the edge of destroying this country. I am scared for my kids and grand kids. If the economy collapses it will be on his head and I believe he will just walk away back to the country he came from with a smile on his face.

Good point above!
It is amazing how the concern that is demonstrated by the "right to life" people often VANISHES after the precious human being emerges from the womb.
If you have a heartfelt opposition to abortion and seek to deny a woman her constitution right to have an abortion (how unamerican it is to deny someone her constitutional right!), then the true measure of your compassion and concern for others is how supportive you are of that little baby, then child, then teenager, etc., AFTER he/she is born.
What are you really made of?

If Obama fails after Bush failed then I guess there is no hope.

You should put a little more effort in trying to be a part of the solution instead of the problem.

You can Obama bash all you want, it doesn't take much to keeps folks like you out of the know. And it takes even less for the rest of us to figure that out.

Your lack of knowledge is sad to say the least.

WIND TURBINES? WHAT WIND TURBINES? WHERE'S MY STIMMY CHECK ??

Anonymous said...

Get in line for your "STIMMY" check, you are behind the illegal immagrants and and people that don't pay income taxes. Spread the wealth around, obama at his best!!

"If you have a heartfelt opposition to abortion and seek to deny a woman her constitution right to have an abortion (how unamerican it is to deny someone her constitutional right!)".....

Where is that right spelled out in the constitution????????

obama has never seen or read the constitution, just like we have never seen his birth certificate. Which is one of the requirements in the constitution for being president. A natural born citizen.

If the Obama administration fails TOO you'll have nothing to worry about because you did not vote for change. It'll be like another day of failed policies.

If people keep losing jobs, their homes, etc etc you'll be able to rejoyce that you've won and those who voted for change failed will have to concede to you. But, for now I'm praying for change. I don't want to spend the next several years as we spent the last and I certainly don't want to spend any more tax payers dollars worried about trying to find fault with Obama as we did with Clinton.

By the way how did you benefit from all the money we spent on the Clinton scandal and how do you benefit from it now.

Thats important to know just incase we don't see any change. I still haven't caught on to the whole benefit of that to the tax payers.

"right to life"...Every person has a right to decide what happens to their body...any decision they make is their decision not mine.

It does not matter how I feel about the subject, I have no right to tell someone else what is right or wrong...

They will answer to their god, not me!

I understood what the writer above meant about constitutonal rights, as in a ruling of the United States Supreme Court as the law of the land.
When you substitute your moral judgment ("right to life") for the law of the land ("right to choose," see Roe vs. Wade), then you are being unamerican.
My desire to control somebody else's body/life does not trump her rights are decreed from the United States Supreme Court.
In short: it's not up to me to tell her what she does with her body.

2:12 poster - I'll buy what you are saying, but the constitution is very clear that a ruling of the supreme court does not become "part" of the constitution. May be a nitpick on my part, but I get very frustrated when folks state they have certain rights as guaranteed by the constitution when in fact they do not. Not trying to make pro choice/pro life argument here (I try to stay as far away from that as possible), merely commenting on the accuracy of the constitutional right part of the post.
