Does anyone have any information on the condition of this couple?

My good friend was stopped at the red light at the intersection and the elderly couple was crossing the street. He said the lady just drove her truck right in to them and they were right in front of her!! In daylight, too. .

My prayers and thoughts are with this poor couple!!

Vech are required by law to stop for ped crossing IN A MARKED CROSSWALK. Crossing in the middle of the street is as much as saying "look, I am commiting suicide".

The couple here were using the crosswalk and were unfortunately struck.

Keep up the good work, fightin 48.

As a person that was near the scene when the accident happened, this community should be very proud of our local volunt's, fire dept. and police dept's. They were fast acting, and deserve a lot of respect!!

I pray for the couple that were injured. However, it look's like a simple accident. It wasn't in daylight, dusk had settled.

Does anybody care to share who the couple was that was hit? I'm sure it has been across the airwaves by this point.

i was in the local Napa store in coudersport today and i over heard two men talking about the accident last night...both members of the fire dept here....they had nothing nice to say about the ambulance folks and said more than once how "they should get "parts of their anatomy" out of other "parts of their anatomy" and learn how to do things right....now this is getting low...were does this "brotherhood" start and stop not in a public place????. i was at a local restuarant and watched the fast responds, the care and concern on the faces of all the amb ,fire and police there in the middle of the road. their one and only priority was the wellbeing and care of the injured. i am proud of everyone who volunteers....work together, train together and become a family....it could be me in the middle of the road someday and i want you all there....

Thank you so much Anon @ 1:08!! These good folks are talking trash on each other...on this site and in public....and then waiting for everyone to thank them!! YES, I do thank them!!! But work together, on the "scene" and off the "scene"!!!

Maybe there was something that happened at scene that could have caused something very VERY bad to happen Maybe this has been talked about before with the Head Honchos of both Dept's.

Who cares if two ppl where having a conversation together and you listened in on it and heard something that you don't like.

At least they are not on here "bashing" like others do, or trying to stir the pot. Let it go and next time mind your own business.

If you want to "dis someone", why not dis the drivers who don't stop at crosswalks for pedestrians.

You may want to look for any type of markings of cross walks in both Coudy and Port A!!!

If you just think it’s alright for you to run over someone on the street, you best have good coverage, because you just might lose every thing you have due to your stupidity Maybe you can’t see the cross walk, but you can see that person.

How can we expect people to stop for pedestrians in crosswalks when the town police wont even stop for them! I have been in crosswalks many times waiting to cross and the cops just drive right on by. Maybe the police should start setting an example, maybe others will follow. I can understand if they are rushing to a call but when they are going to the maple tree for dinner or just cruising around they should stop.

Okay I think it's time that all of this bashing each other and complaining about our emergency service stops. It's kinda pathetic that everytime there is a call for austin, coudy, or roulette that people come on here and talk badly about each other or the community complains about there volunteers. I think that the coudersport "volunteer" fire department did a great job in handling the accident the other night. Look up the definition of volunteer. Put it this was people don't have to volunteer there time and rish there lifes to save people. All of the fire stations around this area are volunteer. Why don't we just start sitting around and not responding to fires or car accidents??? Because we care about the people in our communities. I know there are some departments out there that think there better than everyone else and those are just some peoples opinions. There in it for the wrong reason they just want the glory. So honestly lets just stop with all the bullshit! Let's all realize that thanks to coudy fire and ambulance crews that these two people are still living.
