Potter Commissioners To Set Raises For Coroner and Jury Commissioners After Public Hearing Tonite At 6pm

County Salaries To Be Set Tonight

A public hearing will be held on Wednesday night, Feb. 11, at the F. W. Gunzburger County Office Building to set the salaries for the County Coroner and County Jury Commissioners for the four-year term that begins in 2010.

The public is welcome to provide input to the Potter County Board of Commissioners at 6 pm in the first floor conference room, located just off the building’s North Main Street entrance. After the public has been heard, the commissioners will vote on the salaries.

Potter County Coroner Kevin Dusenbury is paid $18,398, while Jury Commissioners Dean Dow and Norma Cobb Nichols are each paid $6,687. Under the County Code, the commissioners must set the salaries for the years 2010 through 2013 this year, since it is an election year for each of the three positions.

hell just let them get paid an even amount, for the coroner let them get paid $19,000 a year. i mean common your talkin about a guy who would have to get up at three am to drive across county just to say that the person is died.

And for the jury i'd say $7,000 even.

Sister or Mr Christian

Hate is a pretty big word
for someone claiming to be an Extremely Conservative Republican Evangelical Christian?

Pretty doubtful that you plucked that one out of the clear blue sky and somehow I doubt that you found it
in your bible.

Is there a reason for your anonymity. Most self proclaimed Christians are proud of it.

great?.....nice i'll go with, decent on funereals, worth alot more???????????? so if there were one episode per month that would be 1500 per anuncement of death........and he needs more money....heres an idea pay it out of your own pocket and leave the actual taxpayers alone.

mr dusenbury is a very nice man but i do not think he must be at evey death scene. how many deputies does he have in his pocket? commissioner wingo was pronouncing people dead before keven got out of bed. how many deputies?

Kevin Dusenberry is worth every nickle they pay him plus some! Who would want that "thankless" job.
He is called at all hours of the day and night. Travels to some very rural parts of the county; yes to announce someone deceased! I surely wouldn't want the job. We've had a child thru the ice, skiing accidents & youth suicides.
Give the man a BIG RAISE! Keep up the good work Kevin!

I saw a zebra at the zoo! when i was 6 a chicken chased me in my yard! My friends house smells like fish!"

Do you know what all these things have in common? None of them have anything to do with how much the coroner is getting paid. unless you fall on a wind turbine while sky diving, or decide your going to practice your lasso throwing at it. Other than that, not really.

I don't envy the man either, however .. no one is twisting the man's arm to do this and he does get paid for the effort.
I just feel that now is not the time, for anyone in public office ,
to seek an increase in salary.
it's bad timing. he'll just have to tough it out for now.
yes, it's remarkable that anyone can do what he does, but don't ask for more money until economics improve.
it's the right thing to do.
sorry ...

Hold the line said...

Part time job at the rate of 18,000 a year is 1/2 of 36,000 @ year. Not a bad rate.
I agree with the 9:57:00 AM EST our county and country are in a downward spin, we must hold the line on all receivers of tax payers money in every form.
