10th Amendment Rally In Harrisburg--Exclusive Photo Coverage

Representative Samuel E. Rohrer

Solomon's words news photographer, Leo Szczesny took pictures at the Harrisburg 10th Amendment Rally hosted by Pennsylvania state Rep Samuel E. Rohrer and Pennsylvania state Sen Mike Folmer. It was a very nice event. They "unveiled a measure to defend the rights of Pennsylvania as a sovereign state under the 10th Amendment to the United States Constitution."

Rep Rohrer's website has some coverage on the event

Nice job Leo, keep up the good work!

What's a sovereign state versus any other state?

Leo said...

Sovereign state = a state which administers its own government, and is not dependent upon, or subject to, another power.

The 10th Amendment intends to limit the power of the federal government over individual states; to limit federal abuse of power.
Typical abuse (credit: press release): Bribing states with federal tax $ but requiring states to adjust their ways to meet the federal mandates to qualify for the funds.

"The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."

While I may not disagree with Leo on alot of these issues, I am more interested in the United States and not politics. Does the bickering do anything to help our nation? Even though we may not agree with our leaders we need to support them because they are leading OUR country. Even George Bush declined to criticize Barack Obama because he said "he deserves my silence" I think we need a little bit of that from everyone.

Amen Tom

I say we need a lot of silence and more working together to get out of this finical crises we are currently in.

If I were George Bush I would decline to say anything negative as well. I wouldn't want to further tarnish my already tarnished legacy.

We do support them already!!!!! Believe me...I see about 25% of my paycheck go away every two weeks. I believe that for my $12,000 of federal tax money that I pay per year, I have every right to criticize and bitch about how they spend it. Especially when they are giving it to companies that would have failed and then the corporate execs of that company take a 6 figure plus bonus!!! The only way we can get out of the so called "crisis" that we are in is to figure out how to get the "fat cat" politicians out of the office and get someone in there that truly cares about America and its citizens. I didn't vote for Rep or Dem this year because none of those crooks were worthy of my vote.

First of all you don't pay 12k a year in federal tax money so stop telling lies. Lets say for a minute you aren't lying which I know you are paying 12k bid deal trying paying 28k a year in federal taxes that is what I pay. Even with that amount you or I still don't have the right to bitch about anything.

Well.....I have my w-2 in hand and the listing for federal taxes withheld is $12,728.12. Yes...I did get a small portion of this back because I hate to pay in all year and then hve to pay more at tax time, so I contributed a net amount of $11,852. I feel that as an American, these people work for me and I CAN complain about whatever I want to. It is not right that they are bailing out companies with our money when they have mismanaged them into the fix that they are in already. The government is the most mismanged institution of all.

You tell 'em Danny B, agree with you completely!
