Roulette Man Jailed on Knifing Charges
A Roulette man has been committed to the Potter County Jail in lieu of $15,000 bail after being arraigned on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, simple assault with a deadly weapon and harassment for an incident allegedly taking place early Sunday morning at his home on Main Street in the village of Roulette. State police claim that while Daniel Bells of Kim Hill Road Roulette was restraining 22 year old Orry Dickinson Murray after being attacked by Murray, that Murray pulled out a pocket knife and cut Bells on his right thigh and below his right arm pit causing minor injuries. Murray was arraigned before on call district Judge Delores Bristol before being taken to the jail.

Drug-Related Altercation Sends Two Suspects to Jail
Two suspects have been locked up in the Tioga County Prison in connection to a drug related incident taking place Saturday morning in the Parking lot of Fred’s Lobster Garden in Tioga Township. Troopers say they were called to the location at about 7:15 a.m. with a report that 45 year old Larry Goodman of Tioga was waiving a rifle in the air and pointing it at motel rooms. He was taken into custody after a brief struggle and went home, police said, obviously under the influence of a controlled substance. Authorities say their subsequent investigation revealed that Goodman and 40 year old Gregory Walker of Denver, CO and others were assembled at the motel prior to the incident and consumed alcohol and drugs. A disagreement between Goodman and Walker developed and someone took Goodman to his house. He returned with a loaded Stevens bolt action rifle allegedly threatening to kill people . Some of the witnesses retreated to motel rooms and called police. When no one would come out of a room, Goodman reportedly returned home where he was again taken into custody. He was committed to the prison in lieu of $60,000 bail on charges of aggravated assault, persons not to possess firearms, reckless endangerment terroritstic threats, resisting arrest, possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia. Walker was held in lieu of $15, 000 bail after being arraigned on charges of possession with intent to deliver cocaine, possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Drugs May Have Been a Factor in Collision
A Knoxville driver is facing charges in connection to a rear-end collision Monday morning on Route 249 in Chatham Township, Tioga County. Mansfield-based stte police say the collision occurred when Lana Karchner of Little Marsh slowed her Chevy S-10 to make a right hand turn into a driveway while headed north on Route 249 and 21 year old Nathan Cobb of Knoxville allowed his Jeep Cherokee to run into the back of the pick up. Karchner was taken by Sabinsville Ambulance to Soldiers and Sailors Hospital for treatment of moderate injuries. Cobb was unhurt but police say their investigation revealed he was in possession of marijuana at the time of the crash and tried to hide it by throwing it on the ground.

Roulette Driver Suspected of Driving Under the Influence of Pot
Brandi Kio, 28, of Roulette has been charged with possession of marijuana and related paraphernalia after being pulled over by state police for traffic violations on River Street in the village around noontime on March 2.

Several Disorderly Conduct Incidents Probed
Coudersport-based state police have charged 36 yar old Shelley Carpenter of Port Allegany with disorderly conduct for using obscene language in the presence of other people Sunday evening in the emergency room at Charles Cole Hospital.

Troopers say they are “administratively” handling a disorderly conduct involving a 17 year old Potter County boy for an incident just before midnight last Friday near North Street in Roulette. Authorities say the youth was playing music from a radio at a high level of volume disturbing neighbors.

Unknown vandals threw spaghetti sauce and an egg at a door at the home of Charles Williams, Jr. on Williams Road in Osceola Township, Tioga County last Friday between 6:30 and 9:30 pm.

Plant Burglary Investigated
Emporium-based state police are investigating a burglary taking place late last month at Keystone Automatic Technology, Inc. on South Maple Street. Police say factory staff found a door lock had been damaged during an unlawful entry.

State Police Check Out Criminal Mischief Incidents
Vandalism to a car on Lanninger Creek Road over the past weekend is being probed by Coudersport-based state police.

Culprits damaged a hood ornament on a 1994 Ford Crown Victoria belonging to Sharol Ludwig while it was parked at her residence.

And, someone damaged a mailbox located on Daily Brook Road in Keating Township, McKean County owned by Ed Fox of Smethport, also over the past weekend.

Former Potter County Jail Guard Sentenced
A former Potter County Jail Guard has been sentenced 20 days to 16 months with credit for time served, as well as 25 hours of community service for a charge of Contraband /Telecommunication Device to Inmates Prohibited (M1). According to Potter County DA Dawn Fink, on June 27, 2008 while working as a guard at the Potter County Jail, Edward Davis, now of Massachusetts allowed his stepson Zach Easton to use his cell phone while Easton was a inmate in the jail. There's not a problem now.. the jail guard has a jail guard !
