Colonial Radio Group To Buy WFRM-FM

RBR.com
The first attempt made by veteran radio operator Cary Simpson to sell WFRM-FM in the Olean NY market didn’t take, but he’s right back in less than six months with another FCC-filed transaction proposal.

According to broker Ray Rosenblum, the station is currently operating out of Coudersport PA, but is headed for Portville NY. It is commanding a $275K pricetag from Simpson’s Farm & Home Broadcasting Company.

The buyer is Colonial Radio Group Inc., headed by Jeffrey M. Andrulonis. Colonial is already active in the market with WLMI-FM Kane PA and WXMT-FM Smethport PA.

The sale replaces an earlier deal which would have sent WFRM to Barry Drake’s Backyard Broadcasting. That deal fell through last February, and carried a price tag of $325K. More...

No one cares about WRFM because they don't have Gerri Miller anymore and they don't play the DILDINE SINGERS....sell them to someone who knows good talent like Gerri and the DILDINES!!!!!

I have to agree that WFRM has been unresponsive on requests for the Dildine Family Singers. Maybe Gerri Miller at Black Forest Broadcasting will be more responsive. Let her know. She should play songs by the Dildines!!!

Gerri loves DILDINES I am sure she would be more than happy to play some good old Dildine Singers...

My favorite is "I Got Down on My Knees"

In all seriousness, the quality of local radio has been horrible for years. Its not a great loss. Its actually rather embarrassing as a local to know that travelers in the area hear this feeble attempt on the airwaves.

Is Backyard Broadcasting the same company that owns the Large Swine radio station? What about the AM station? I never listen to wfrm since Gerri Miller left. I like her new station the best.
