Community Justice Advisory Board Meets At 10:30 Tuesday

Next meeting of the Potter County Community Justice Advisory Board will be held in the courtroom today (Tuesday, April 28) at 10:30 a.m. Judge John B. Leete recently pulled together state and local police, along with the sheriff, commissioners, district attorney, probation department, district judges, public defender and others to lay the groundwork for establishing a Community Justice Advisory Board.

A representative of the Pa. Commission on Crime and Deliquency facilitates the meetings. Benefits of a county forming a CJAB include improved communication, better coordination of programs geared toward criminal justice and prevention, and potential eligibility for federal and state grants. Apparently, self appointed PR director for the county Paul Heimel has nothing better to do than to report on the work that everyone else does. While he's doing this, who's doing the commissioners' work on behalf of county that he was elected to do?

I think it's great that Solomon's Words runs these reports on what's going on with the county government. Before these commissioners we had to rely on the local newspaper and if you think they didn't pick and choose and show bias then I have some oceanfront property in Iowa that I would love to sell you.

Yes, it is a good thing that the information is provided here - at least here, the comments are not turned off so that more than just the commissionr's opinion of themselves can be heard.
