Duke Center Woman Pleads Guilty

WESB NEWS--Duke Center Woman Pleads to Welfare Fraud

A Duke Center woman pleaded guilty Thursday in McKean County Court to forgery and violating welfare code.

Court records show that 37 year-old Marcia Riley obtained over $4,400 dollars in federal food stamps she wasn’t qualified for. Riley also tampered with a Department of Public Welfare order form. She’ll be sentenced in May.

Kudos to DPA for catching yet another welfare cheat!! If state agencies took the initiative to hire more investigators and check out the supposed FACTS they are given by lying welfare recipients, our taxes would decrease tremendously. Am not against teh system for those who are TRULY deserving of it, but...Just think, if the entire welfare system would shut down for just 90 days once a year, you'd see many able-bodied recipients who CAN work go looking for a job and boost the economy. It's a pity that DPA can't double the amount of investigators to rid the cheats out of the system!
