FINAL WORK STARTS NEXT WEEK ON DRIFTWOOD BRIDGE

Work will finish by mid-May

CLEARFIELD– Final work will begin Monday, April 6 on the Route 555 Driftwood Bridge in Cameron County. Crews will be working to complete remaining roadway construction associated with the bridge replacement project.

Final work includes reconstruction of Driftwood Avenue, new storm sewers, curbing, sidewalks and paving. During the work, Driftwood Avenue will be closed to through traffic near the intersection with Route 555. Traffic on Route 555 will not be affected by the closure on Driftwood Avenue. Motorists on Route 555 may experience slight delays associated with roadwork activities.

The bridge replacement project began in February 2008, with the new bridge open this past January. All work on the project is expected to be complete by mid-May but all work is weather dependent. Contractor on this $3.5 million project is Clearwater Construction. of Mercer.
