From Our E-mail.........

A father wanted to read a magazine but was being bothered by his little
girl, Shelby. She wanted to know what the United States looked like.

Finally, he tore a sheet out of his new magazine on which was printed
map of the country. Tearing it into small pieces, he gave it to Shelby
'Go into the other room and see if you can put this together.
will show you our whole country today.'

After a few minutes, Shelby returned and handed him the map, correctly
fitted and taped together. The father was surprised and asked how she
finished so quickly.

'Oh,' she said, 'on the other side of the paper
is a
picture of Jesus. When I got all of Jesus back where He belonged, then
country just came together.'

obama wants to take God out of our lives. He said we are not a nation of christians.
I, for one, don't like this "change"!! God help us all.

Poster 11:23

You are apparently unaware of the history of our country, (maybe you should move away) America was and still is founded upon the belief that their is a higher power to answer to, such as GOD!!! Such as the phrase sang "God Shed His Grace On Thee." Do YOU recognize that? Religion and politics have always been hand in hand in this country and is what our beliefs and rights were built upon. If you don't want morality inflicted upon you then move to Iran, Iraq, etc.........

No matter who trys to remove God from our lives he will only be taken from us if we let him be. And I for one will never let that happen to me or my children. stand together and stand strong.

That is absolutly fantastic. As for the anonymous comment that said keep god out of politics. That is so incorrect we need to incoperate god into our lives more. he should be in our everyday life to the fullest extent. God should be what everyone of us builds our lives around. He is the most important thing in this world. Jesus Died for us and all he asked for was our love and respect to each other. Nothing else means a thing if you dont love god and jesus. It does not matter how much money you make while you are here. Money will not get you into heaven. Love and respect will.

To 11:23 - thank God you are outnumbered here, and thank God religion is still alive and well.

What the poster fails to realize is that God has touched his life. He will be quite surprised when he finally sees what he has been missing because of HATE!

I support 11:23.

I also think what you all are doing is a little curious. God and Jesus are the same thing to only PART of the country.

I say keep Jesus out of politics.

And looking at the middle east... I say keep religion out as well.

Religious freedom - one of the tenets for which this country was founded - that means everyone - christians, jews, muslims, athiests, satanists, buddhists, shintoists, hindis... god or gods... are all accepted.

Not just Jesus.

So you either keep it all out - or you keep it ALL in.

You can't pick and choose.

Maybe the ones that believe in God are out numbered but let tradedy strike you or your family and I'll be the first thing from your mouth is Please God help.

I'm confused.

Since when does not mixing religion and politics mean that a person is not religious?

A person can believe in God and believe that it should not be part of government.

It's not like the two are mutually exclusive.

What a fantastic story! Don't over think it and ruin it with negative comments.

duh..........don't make it more complicated than it is people!

Anonymous said...

Ok - so we should just ignore the moral? Then why tell the story?

Keep it up ...

Did you ever think that the founders of our country might have been.......WRONG?????

NO the founders of our country were not wrong. You just have no faith. You will wish you did someday. If they were wrong were did everything come from then. (let me guess your gonna say monkeys.
Why do so many people have no faith anymore. I rember when I was a child almost everyone went to church to learn more about God. now hardly anyone goes.
But one thing I do KNOW FOR SURE is that there are alot of people that have no faith and do not beleave. I personally am not one of them. I know that there is something so much better out there for me. I also know that I will be there.
Even if I were not sure (which I am) I would still check it out more and try to follow the bible because of the chance that there is a heaven because I dont know about anyone else But I personally dont want to be in agony for eterity.
The bible does tell us we will be persecuted for being beleavers. So I guess that is what this is all about!!!! But it also says do not deny god in any way.

Shelby said "when I got all of Jesus back where He belonged, then our country just came together" Where did the politics come into this? Listin to her words. Maybe if her father as well as all of us just listin to God's childern, put down the magazines and spent more time together "our country would just come together"

I think the issue is that the implication is that Christianity will save us all. And I suspect that many here would agree with that.

But the country is one of religious freedom, not of Christianity. If it were a picture of God on the back, and Jesus, perhaps there would have been fewer protests.

I'll share something. I was speaking to a friend of mine who practices a religion other than christianity. She once told me she saw missionaries as worse than rapists. Rapists only attack your body, but missionaries, they try to take who you are, they tell you you're a horrible person and that you *need* this other thing - Jesus - to be clean. They defile your soul.

I have nothing against Christianity myself. I was raised in the Church. What I do have an issue with is forcing it on others. And THAT would be the problem with saying Jesus will bring our country together... because Jesus is distinctly Christian, and thus you exclude HUGE portions of the country OR you force Him on them. And that just isn't right, particularly in a country founded for religious freedom.

"What is it about people that to to believe the impossible seems more important than to know the truth" People read it again. You missed the two points that were put acrossed. It is not all about you and how you feel, but what a little girl sees through the eyes of Jesus. Is that so bad? And would it really be that bad to live in a world where everyone really was equal and love one another??

Anonymous said...

If that perfect world did not include Jesus Christ as our Lord Then yes that would be bad. It would be far from perfect.
