Man Gets 10-20 Years For Sex With 9 Year Old

WESB NEWS--Bradford Man Sentenced on Sex Charge

A Bradford man was sentenced Tuesday in McKean County Court to 10 to 20 years in state prison on a sex charge.

Court records show that 27 year-old Michael Fanning had been convicted of forcing a 9 year-old girl to have sex with him. Fanning is also required to register as a Megan’s Law sexual offender for the rest of his life.

The US could learn a lesson from third world countries. Lets start persecuting these men by cutting their stuff off and see how many want to continue to sexually molest young children. Personally these men do not deserve to spend 10-20 years in prison they deserve to spend eternity in hell.

I agree with 124 It will take only a few under the knife and the sex crimes will decline. It should be slow and painful like it was for the child. Jail time is to easy.

I agree with the first poster as well, but just read an article how a Saudi Arabia court has now for the second time upheld the marriage of an 8 yr old to an obviously much older man. Turns out the parents of the 8 yr old girl arranged the marriage to get out of debt. My point - be careful as to which 3rd world countries you want to model our system on.

The guilty have to many rights in our country....

Our system is to protect the guilty not the innocent...

If the parent of the child took matters into there own hands, the parent would spend more time in jail than the offender would... now what does that tell you???

The bottom line is that the punishment should fit the crime. Cruel and unusual punishment???? If the crime is cruel and unusual does the perpetrator deserve less harsh treatment than he/she doled out? I agree, the guilty have way too many rights and have gotten away with too much for too long. Criminals are more thoroughly protected than the victims (not to mention that they have access to a full law library and to free legal representation for appeal after appeal after appeal), while the victims can rarely afford any legal help at all...where is the justice in that?

What goes around comes around. It may take a long while but pedophiles and other degenrates will have to answer to a much higher power than the legal system. They better hope that God is at least as merciful as some of the judges, lawyers, and jury members have been.
