WELLSVILLE, NY----Robert Ralph “Bob” Williams, 58, of Wellsville, NY, died Tuesday, April 21, 2009 in his home surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born May 5, 1950 in Blossburg, PA, he was a son of Robert B. and Jean BriggsWilliams. On November 9, 1991 in Obi, NY, he married Lora Anne Walker, who survives.

Mr. Williams was a graduate of Otto Eldred High School, class of 1969. He was employed at the former Spring Hill Dairy in Portville, NY. He later was employed by Dal Tile Corporation in Olean, NY from June 6, 1969 until he became ill on December 26, 2007.

Mr. Williams attended the Obi Community Church in Obi and after his illness attended Genesis Bible Church in Scio. He enjoyed vacationing in North Carolina for many years. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle. He loved spending time with his family and friends.

Surviving besides his wife are his mother and stepfather, Jean and James Thompson of Smethport, PA; a son, Gary M. Williams of Harrisburg, PA; two daughters, Stephanie L. (Herm) Burrows of Eldred, PA, and Katie L. (Billy) Moore of Wellsville; four grandchildren, Brandon Williams, Jordon Williams, Ashley Burrows, and Mya Moore; two great-grandchildren: Mason Williams and Hunter Burrows; three sisters, Ethel M. (Donald) Bennett of Clayton, NC, Rose E. Fitzsimmons of Smethport, PA, and Viva J. (John) Ellis of Portageville, NY; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his father on November 11, 1991.

Friends may call at the Genesis Bible Church, 4193 State Route 19, Scio, NY on Saturday, April 25, 2009 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at which time funeral services will be held. Pastor Marc J. Chamberlain, lead pastor of Genesis Bible Church, Pastor Ken Jordan, associate pastor of the Obi Community Church, and the Rev. Daniel P. Grimes, pastor of the Ceres United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Knights Creek Cemetery, Scio, NY.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse, PA.
