IT WAS ON THE AVFD WEBSITE , WHERE DID IT GO ??

Anonymous said...

does anyone know if this is a local? No matter who it is.. we're praying for them

Anonymous said...

You know they could use volunteers. You folk seem to listen to the radio alot.

Anonymous said...

Yes it was on the website because a member who didnt make the call did a update on everything. As soon as they got back the web admin updated it with the call.

Anonymous said...

Is it really necessary or even appropriate to have a running "play by play" of an unfolding tragic event like that, with all the time stamps? It just seems insensitive and voyeuristic to me.

If that information is being posted like that by someone in scannerland who's hearing it over the radio, it's bad enough...but if it's being posted by "a member of the fire department who didn't make the call", it's very low class and unprofessional.

I'm sure you'll all attack me for saying that, but I'm sorry, that's just the way I see it.

Anonymous said...

Who was it?

Anonymous said...

It was Dennis Feddick. Not sure of his condition.

Anonymous said...

I agree with you anon @ 1:11. It seems to be the normal thing on here. Someone from the emergency response team post's info here and then waits for any complaints so they can spend the rest of their time arguing and telling everyone to go and volunteer. I think that it's disrespectful to themselves and the community.

Anonymous said...

I think there are probably way more people interested in what is happening than there are who aren't. If you don't want to know STFU and go look at another website. There are plenty of other places out there for you to go; you don't have to read the accident posts if you don't like them.

Anonymous said...

THe person doing the run on blog on the website never once broke HIPPA, if you lived in scanner land you got the same data as the site showed.

So.. I'd leave it at that. and plus if u dont like what was said it is really easy to block the website.

The accident posts actually avoid further accidents from happening. Instead of 50 people driving by the scene just to see what is going on they can come on here instead and find out. Thank you for keeping us posted.

It is very simple to NOT see the details, don't come looking. Just like offensive music on the radio, turn the station and offensive movies on television, turn the channel. It is all a matter of choice. It appears to me, that you choose to look at what other see as informative and are offended... Quit looking if it bothers you so much... I have a scanner and heard the details as they unfolded, but if I didn't or if it were out of my scanners range, I would look forward to informative posts such as this to see what was going on... If you think about it, it is really no different that what you would see on television if you were living in the city... Fortunately, we don't and this is as close as you are going to come to "up to the minute coverage"... Were you offended when the news crews were following OJ Simpson through the streets of LA, or were you watching with baited breath? Do you see where I am going with this?

" Instead of 50 people driving by the scene just to see what is going on "

You really don't mean people would actually drive there just to gawk, if they couldn't read the play by play? Do you?

I know some say there is not alot to do here, but come on.

Let the professionals do their job.

Read a book, play with your child, call someone you haven't spoken too for a while or pray for the person.

Spend your time more wisely

Agree with 1:11 post.

Hey if you live in Austin ~ you realize that this is a way of life
for these people. They live it & breath it everyday -just waiting for the tones to go off/LOL

ThatsMyMonkeyMan said...

I'm sorry but I think people need to get off it already. These fire departments are opening themselves up for negative criticism by making everything public on a website. People that don’t like what they are doing have a right to express it if they want. I don't think it is right that people who have negative opinion on what they are doing keep getting bashed for it. If the volunteers or anyone else don't like the comments then my advice is to ignore it and move on.

Yes, 7:52!! It's a two way street....

blame me for your problems said...

alright people you all need to stop this crap over a blog message, what we need to do here is hope and pray this person is alright and that he may come out of this one that car does look pretty messed up and an accident like that is one you really dont walk away from so stop this crap and move on god

And with that run-on sentence let's bring down the dildine and conclude this string.

Anonymous said...

Can you hear it? That's banjo music off in the distance. You hillbillies just never fail to entertain!! Git 'r done y'all. hahaha

Anonymous said...

Ahhh yes....Potter county...not the end of the world....but you can see it from here....

Anonymous said...

Nicely said Nuff and Blame posters! Don't like the news median here? Don't look and it will b in your Leader Enterprise or Endeavor in a few days!? Some of you whine over the dumbest things! Great Job AVFD!!Keep up the good work!! Brad {:

Anonymous said...

Lets add up all the Banjos in Austin. Ok, we have zero. Now for the Coudy poster, um, probably like 10. Get a life. Hope this dude lives and doesn't get a DUI.

Anonymous said...

9:32 your hope is he doesn't get a DUI ????? nice way to think. no wonder there are so many crashes in the austin area.

Anonymous said...

Its mainly to do with our horrible roads that never get fixed because all our penndot money is wasted on Coudersport. Probably have to put DUI in the second position though.

Anonymous said...

no can't blame the roads. most of the crashes are due to booze, drugs or going to fast.

Anonymous said...

The reason your penndot money is wasted on Coudersport is because austin isn't a real town.

Anonymous said...

Mr. Monkeyman:First of all why dont you take you own advice and move on and quit bashing your local volunteers or even better why dont you join a fire company or run with the ambulance, Secondly AVFD is doing absolutly nothing wrong with taking pictures and doing write-ups and are its not just in Potter County for instance, Kentland Fire Company(www.kentland33.com which is in Maryland) or Progress Fire Comapny(www.progressfire.com which is in Harrisburg). So why dont you leave your warped surroundings in Potter County and realize that Austin and Port Allegany arent doing anything wrong and although you can have all the negative feelings for the fire and ems others will respect them for what they do

What makes a town a real town?

Anonymous said...

6:54!!! Don't give him the time!!! Please!!!

Anonymous said...

You have a town if you own a zip code..

Anonymous said...

Austin Ambulance and Fire Company, do you have to rotate your personal vacations? I can not believe how many serious calls you have.

Anonymous said...

Austin isn't even real place.

Anonymous said...

You mean like 16720, a zip code that is older than 16915?

Anonymous said...

Austin isn't a real place because the dam broke.

Anonymous said...

i live in jamestown now but my mom lived in austin for many years and i spent plenty of summers in the little town of Austin. and it is a town maybe a town you blink and is gone..but its a town with real people a real zip code. and the town has problems in it just like any other town. i could care or less for the drama going on i just wanted to know if the person is okay.. and if hes not i hope he gets better. prayers are with him/her
