WHO Raises Pandemic Level To 5

The World Health Organization has raised the pandemic threat level to 5 out of a possible 6. Six being an all out epidemic. Preparations should be made now while stores are still open as quarantines and other restrictions could be placed in effect if this epidemic progresses.

Make sure you have enough medicine to get you through a period of time, and follow previously published instructions on what to have in your home to be prepared for a pandemic.

Hospitals and other facilities may be forced to lock you out, as they are overwhelmed by those who are
sick.

The message that has been stressed to Potter Citizens is basically we will be on our own
. Proper preparation for your family needs may make the difference between life and death.

Don't count on it... Where do you think all the city people that have camps in this area are going to run to when/if it hits epidemic proportions? And do you honestly believe that if they are infected, they will not come up and risk spreading it to all of us? I don't think so... And don't for one minute think that the allotment of help will be re-distributed to this area to accommodate the rush of people trying to avoid getting it... We are, and always will be at the bottom of the list and will have to fend for ourselves...

There are over 100,000 cases of flu every winter resulting in approximately 10,000 deaths every year. There are currently 100 documented swine flu cases in the US. Epidemic levels? Maybe some time but it's not yet. Just the media's way of keeping everyone from getting a good night's sleep. Just use common sense and good hygiene.

what kind of cracks me up about all this listening to the news reports and such...is please people use good hygiene all of the time. It should be a given...if most folks aren't and need to be told to cover their mouth when sneezing and wash their hands then we deserve an epidemic I guess.
