Over the last two years, PPL has contributed nearly a half million dollars to make sure lawmakers pull the plug on rate caps.

Gee....what a suprise.....The elderly, & fixed income people are PAYING for it along with the rest of us! What is wrong with our political leaders??? GREED, that is what is wrong. This country is on a path to Hell.

Once again, with the use of wind turbines, the electric bills will go up on top of the high bills expected, due to the stopping of rate caps. Wind turbine produced electric is more expensive to produce and will destabilize the electric grid requiring more expensive electric switching equipment which will also be passed on to the consumer.

This is to the next poster: no matter what you try to say "there is just no reason to have wind turbines! THERE IS JUST NO REASON!!!

Thats why i had my gas meter pulled and went all electric.Put in a coal stoker and am now saving a ton of cash.Gas used to be the best value not anymore. You know when people that work for ppl don't use gas somethings wrong.

Ya and the price they are paying for natural gas is peanuts compared to what they are charging...

Has anyone's natural gas rate gone down? Didn't think so!

All utilities have all ways been this way.

Yes matter of fact National fuel's lowered their rate a think three times this year.

And to the comment about destabilizing the electric grid, posting a comment like that shows how ignorant you are. there is no reason to post a dumb comment THERE IS JUST NO REASON !!!

"National fuel's lowered their rate a think three times this year."...guess I should have stated PPL, or Central or what ever they are calling themselves now. I was aware that National fuel did lower their rates for their customers.

I agree 100% with the rest of your blog!

I think the time has come for these political contributions to be given to the lower-income people who want to run for office, rather than putting more money into the hands of people who already have too much. Our elected officials have never experienced life like the rest of us, and they can't ever understand what it feels like to be poor. We can never get a down-to-earth average Joe into the political process because it costs too much to run for office. Let PPL "participate in the process" by throwing their money into a kitty that ALL candidates can draw from. They might be less anxious to donate, but it would make our politicians more honest.

Now let's investigate the gas companies and their policies for raisng rates. It's terrible- I know of one young family whose gas was turned off even tho they were paying monthly to catch up on the winter rates- they had a sick child and the gas company could have cared less.

Contact the PA Public Utility Commission, because PPL has put in a request to raise prices in November!

what the sam h#@%....do wind turbines have to do with gas rates??? do they run on gas? duh
it is better to remain silent and thought a fool then to open your mouth and remove all doubt...

Come On, All of you knew we have been scammed by the Natural Gas Companies all along. It's pretty bad when the rates are soooooooo high that every other person you talk to is on the "Budget Plan". What a scam to milk the community for every penny they can get. (Let's see we can jack up the rates beyond what the people can pay, so we will continue to take their money in the summer when they are not using gas to heat their home) WHAT CROOKS!!!
And you wonder why our economy is in such poor shape.

This is exactly why we choose to use propane as a back up to our out door wood boiler!

I know the price per gallon upon delivery and am not charged a customer service fee every month, transportation fees, state tax, and the list goes on and on and on...!

This whole article was about electric rates, not gas, maybe this poster should watch the video before he comments and makes himself look like a fool.

PLEASE file your complaints with the PUC....maybe just maybe we all can keep the rates lower.
