‘A miracle he survived’

Pilot seriously injured when plane crashes off Route 120

LOCK HAVEN EXPRESS- A pilot spraying to suppress gypsy moths off of mountainous Scootac Road, near Route 120 north of town, crashed his plane after hitting overhead tension lines Thursday.

Pilot Jimmie F. Kemp, 54, of St. Johns, Mich., was taken via LifeFlight helicopter to Geisinger Medical Center in Danville for what appears to be moderate injuries after he crashed his Turbine Thrush single-seat spraying plane onto the Ian Stewart property from about 75 feet in the air.

It took emergency responders about an hour to extricate Kemp as he was pinned under the plane More....
