It's almost time for Galeton's Famous 4th of July Weekend...and the weekend wouldn't be complete without a Parade! The Galeton Area Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring the annual parade on Saturday, July 4th. The start time for the parade is 11 a.m. Line-up will begin at the Galeton Area School at 8:30 a.m.

The parade route will exit the Galeton Area School grounds and turn left on Bridge Street, turn right on Germania Street, then right on Union Street, turn a final right on West Street dispersing at John J. Collins Memorial Park. There will be three parade demonstration areas along Germania Street (near Lakeview Cinema, Karschner's Insurance, and the Wonder Bar) plus the judge's & announcer's demonstration area directly in front of Hess Funeral Home.

Trophies will be awarded as follows at 1 p.m. at the Park Pavilion: 1 – Best of Parade; 3 – Judge's Choice; 1- Runner-Up and 1 – Honorable Mention. First, Second and Third Place trophies will also be awarded for the Emergency Vehicle category.

And, please make plans to attend the 25th Annual Goodyear Hose Company's Red Suspender Weekend in the Park, and of course, THE BEST FIREWORKS DISPLAY Saturday night. Watch for merchant sales and special events throughout town all weekend. Come early & stay late!!!
