Gertrude P. Henry, 90, formerly of Ulysses, PA,

Gertrude P. Henry, 90, formerly of Ulysses, PA, died Monday, May 11, 2009 at Kirkhaven Nursing Home, Rochester, NY.

Born August 4, 1918, in Oswayo, PA, she was the daughter of James and Mary Spencer Stilson. On December 9, 1937, in Stannards, NY, she married George W. Henry, who predeceased her on November 11, 1987.

She was employed by Cowburn’s Market in Ulysses, Lush Brothers in Galeton, Chase Oil Co. in Ulysses and the Burger Hut in Ulysses. She was a member of the Tri-Town Volunteer Firemen’s Auxiliary and the Ulysses Grange.

Surviving are: two sons, Robert W. (Paula) Henry of Macedon, NY and Roger L. (Betty) Henry of Ulysses; a sister, Jean (Keith) Truax of Newfield; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchilren; and nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her daughter, Marilyn Perry; a great-grandchild, Ryan Ives; and a brother, J. Holden “Brownie” Stilson.

Friends may call Thursday, May 14, 2009 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the Olney Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Ulysses, PA, where Funeral Services will be held on Friday, May 15 at 11:00 AM. Pastor Harold Kiel will officiate. Burial will be in Ulysses Cemetery.
