PENNDOT TO CLOSE ROUTE 3001 IN POTTER COUNTY FOR BRIDGE WORK

Week-long work on Stone Lick Run Bridge will remove weight restrictions

CLEARFIELD – On Monday, June 1, PennDOT will close State Route 3001 near the village of Conrad in order to replace the beams and deck on the Stone Lick Run Bridge.

The bridge is currently posted for a 10-ton weight limit for single vehicles and a 19-ton weight limit for combination vehicles. Replacing the bridge’s deck and beams will allow PennDOT to remove the posted weight restrictions.

Route 3001 will be closed June 1 through June 8 and a detour will be in place. The official detour directs drivers to use Routes 872, 6 and 44. The bridge spans Stone Lick Run on Route 3001 near the village of Conrad in Wharton Township, Potter County.

The Stone Lick Run Bridge was built in 1972, is 20 feet long and carries an average of 74 vehicles per day. A contractor will perform the bridge work.

For more information on roadway construction and maintenance operations, visit the PennDOT website at www.dot.state.pa.us.
