Reporter Calls Austin BioBlitz "AWESOME"

BIOBLITZ AWESOME
Alex Davis, a correspondent for the Potter Leader-Enterprise, assigned to cover the Austin Dam BioBlitz has one word for what he saw at the dam site this morning, "AWESOME!"

Alex says he watched students trying to find critters, and has some photos of critters, but he hasn't had time to look at them yet. He reports, "Real, real neat to see the kids interacting. And the scientists were neat, too."

There will be a public program at 2:00pm today (Friday) and the event will continue through tonight and tomorrow. The public is invited to watch or participate in this unique event in the hills of Potter County. Alex raved, "What a neat event. Really neat."

You can read Alex's story in next Wednesday's Potter Leader-Enterprise.

NEAT, GREAT, AWESOME - use those adjectives! I went to the event this morning and it was great to see all of the interactions of students with scientists and other volunteers that were assisting. In fact, I was impressed enough that I am going to stop by another time or two (today/tonight and/or tomorrow).

Thanks to Mr. Arthur Metgzer who wrote the application and had the foresight for this project and to DOMINION for the funding.

Would love to see it become an annual event!!

When my grandson got home he had to come to our house and tell us all about Bio-blitz. He was so excited with everything he learned and the people he met. Thanks to everyone that put this together.

My son loved it. Thanks to all of the volunteers and others involved.

my daughter attended this and now she wants to become an ethologist. I'm not exactly sure what that is, but it's something to do with animals. before she wanted to be a pinata designer, so I think this is an improvement.

Amazing...build it and they will come. And who said our young people don't care, these kids do. Good for them and everyone involved in Bio-Blitz. Love reading about it.

This was a great project. I'm really impressed with Solomon's coverage of it. Everything I've heard about it has been really positive talking to parents, 8 year-olds, and 18 year-olds.
