Scott Majot Honored With Star Of Excellence By PennDOT

Agency Recognizes 24 Employees Across the Commonwealth

CLEARFIELD – PennDOT Secretary Allen D. Biehler, P.E. announced today that 24 employees received the 2008 Star of Excellence Award, including two employees from District 2.
Anita Mann and Scott Majot were honored this afternoon at an awards luncheon at the Governor’s Residence in Harrisburg.

“Having Anita and Scott recognized as Star of Excellence recipients is truly exciting”, said District 2 Executive Kevin Kline. “They are outstanding examples of employees who work smarter, harder and with enormous dedication”.

Anita Mann, a Purchasing Agent in the District Office headquarters in Clearfield earned “Star” status for playing an integral role in monitoring purchases in the District Office through inventory control and contract preparation. Current savings amount to more than $52,000. Mann has worked for PennDOT since August 2005.

Scott Majot, Highway Maintenance Manager for Potter and Cameron Counties earned “Star” status for his leadership abilities and his constant drive to work smarter, more efficiently and with cost effectiveness. Majot has worked for PennDOT since January 1994.

“I am proud to have these employees as members of the PennDOT team,” Biehler said. “The example set through their dedication and perseverance will help move the organization forward. Their innovations and efficient operations lay the groundwork for further improvements as we continually move forward in providing the best transportation system possible.”

The Star of Excellence Awards are presented annually to employees who represent the department’s values of service, performance and integrity. The recipients represent a variety of organizational positions, spanning from highway maintenance workers and purchasing agents to IT specialists and planning managers.

Congrats Scott...but to have to go to a luncheon in Harrisburg at the Governor's mansion sounds more like punishment to me!

I have had the opportunity to discuss highway safety with Scott and you can tell he really does care.

Apparently that goes for all his responsibilities and he has been recognized for his distinctive performance.

Congratulations, Scott, on a job well done!

congratulations Scott but i hope you are addressing this problem. you might be saving money but the southern part of rt 872 from wharton south to sinnamhoning is not up to par. the tar and chip program last year on that section of road was a real joke. all the stone was plowed off in winter leaving bare tar which is very dangerous for motorcycles and destructive for our vehicles. roads like these do not promote tourisum.please consider resurfacing this road instead of tar and chipping.
