What the heck do you mean, just the normal for Austin...this is ridiculas and I hope they find out who did this..........and then prosecute......whoever did this, get a friggin life......

Probably those anti wind people again.

maybe it's the same upstanding citzens taking the Fink signs....

Anonymous said...

I noticed the Fink signs were in Cameron County!!

maybe it was a blade from the wind turbines up on the hill.

If you will look at the sign you can see it was definitely NOT the wind. This was done on purpose by some loser

It's too bad that someone had to tear down this sign. The student spend a lot of time and money people donated to this project. To ruin such a beautiful sign is soooo immature. Sure hope someone tells all.

what abot that guy delivering the phone books???? maybe when he tossed it it hit the sign

Why are there so many degenerates in Austin?

Anonymous said...

I helped build that sign I put a lot of hard work in to it. I think it was done by bears that is how a lot of things in Austin get destroyed.

I find it hard to believe that anyone can even leave such comments as if this is a laughing matter!!! This young man worked very hard and accomplished what he set out to do. It is pathetic that anyone could be so disrespectful. It is imperative that those who commited such an act are caught and punished if for anything to hopefully set an example that will prevent future vandalism.

Anonymous said...

I don't think setting an example will prevent any future vandalism in a town like austin if anything it will encourage more vandalism.

What should they do punish every bear in a 10 mile square radius of austin ??

Can't kids be kids anymore with out all your pissing and moaning? Or were you perfect child who did no wrong? Lighten up!!!!

The sign looks the same as it always has to me.

I am one of austin seniors that worked hard on this sign. In fact I was the project lead and I would I can't believe someone would do such a thing. I mean if it was a bear that is fine because bears don't know any better but humans do. This is just unacceptable.

Just get out your hammer and nails and some paint and fix it! Gee Whiz...it's just a sign!!!!!

The Wife and I travel through Austin a lot and have always felt what a nice town that seems to have people who took pride in themselves and their town. The sign was one of the nicest around which showed pride in your school which always seemed well cared for.
Seeing the sign destroyed and reading the quotes on here shows there must be some of you who don’t have pride in your selves. What a messed up life you are going to have.

If you need any funds to repair it, ask Jim to post it and I will donate $. I can send to Jim & he can get it to you, if he would be so kind.

Don't post your address here, as there are too many mental cases.

Are you serious? I am from Austin and I find this a joke. Who cares what happened? If you question if it was an accident or vandilism, fix it. Come complain when you KNOW it is more than what you ASSUME it is. If you really think that this sign is something to be bothered by then, I am in awe of you because that means that you have never been struck by tradegy or something that really unreversibly hurts. I would love to have your life. Believe me, in 2, 5 or 10 years, you won't care what happened to that sign, fix it or get over it, if it is that important to you. In the mean time, as far as I am concerned, this is trivial, and it sure as hell isn't news worthy. As for the comment about Vera, I am sure she had a hell of alot better things to deal with then your damn sign! When I go to sleep at night, I can only pray to have the life you people do. Enjoy it! And I say that as a person that is jealous as hell that you only have this sign to be upset about. You don't know how lucky you have it! If someone purposely vanadized it, you do need to get a life or try to copy someone else's if you don't know how to obtain your own. I am pretty certain who you choose to copy won't be someone who has lost more than a damn sign. Get over it people. The senior project was a feasible way to get an A, it did absolutely NOTHING for the community and the kids who made the signs did less to get the money to raise for it. The only reason they are there is the family raised the money for them. Once again, hats off to the people who think that it is such an important piece of Austin's legacy!

I seen a couple coons in that area last week, I'm thinking they may have got out of control and the next thing you know, they got the sign tore up!

It is just a SIGN !!!! Good one apparently your not from austin or have ever lived in an area like austin because it is not just a SIGN to us people from austin. This sign brings many of us hope each day. It is a ray of sunshine in an otherwise gloomy town. Shame on you for trivializing our beautiful sign.

Anonymous said...

COONS??? What type of coons are you referring too? I hope you are referring to the animals.

First of all you need to get a life if you get up early to check out this blog because I am sure you aren't employed. Second I am sure your life is just as meaningless and worthless as everybody else on here so get over yourself. I know for a fact these Austin Seniors worked their butts off day in and day out to come up with enough money for this beautiful masterpiece of a sign. Shame on you for trying to bring people down for caring about something important in their life.

This is just part of the ongoing fued between the two upstanding familys (hatfield & mccoy)

I am personally going to donate a new sign tomorrow. It is twice as big as the old sign and has neon lights and solar panels for clean green power. It was created by the Seniors of Costello high school. I know that Costello high school is typically a rival of austin high school but I think for this special occasion we can put our grievances aside and enjoy the new sign.

Have a spelling bee between the people of Costello and Austin, the loser has to pay for a new sign!

Anonymous said...

The peole of ausin are much beter spellars than the peole of costello.

I have reason to belive that a Tornado might have done this. It swished in and broke it and then swished away.

Ya you know a twister and not your sister.

I'm pretty sure just about every single one of these blogs probably belong to someone who has NO LIFE!!!! It's about time we all grow up -- do you think this site is just for bashing people and places? This is supposed to be an informative site, not a place to get on and act like your 2 years old. As far as the Austin and Costello comparison, that has got to be the dumbest thing I have heard of. GROW UP PEOPLE. There are some people who like to get on here and read the news and not have to see all the ignorant bashing going on. What a shame. I hope you people weren't raised this way nor are you raising your own kids this way.

Is the previous comment from an Austinite?? So, do you work?? I kinda thought the comments were mostly from people who care about the hard work of their young people and want others to appreciate it as well and not DESTROY IT...
