Meeting Cancelled

The Potter County Dept of Emergency Services has announced that the Local Emergency Management Coordinator’s Meeting scheduled for Wednesday, June 10th has been cancelled.

I am sorry but I do not beleive that a person should keep receiving pay when they do not do anything, that is our money going to waste and someone else has to do the job, there are plenty of people who need work in this area, put him on non-paid leave and put the position out for temp till it is all resolved.

If Mr steiner is found not guilty does he receive back pay and we then also pay for the temp. you want to hire? Let justice take its course. I have no opinion on wether he is guilty or not.

Leave with no pay until found not guilty or guilty is what should happen.

We as tax payers do not receive pay if we do not do our jobs, it is that simple. No matter the reason, no show no pay!

all we keep hearing is that no one has money, then why should an individual, no matter the circumstances receive pay for something that is not be performed, sorry but this is my hard earned money to pay someone to sit around and do nothing, bad enough I have to pay people on welfare, now his salary too. Sorry but I totally disagree with that, no pay till it goes to court, he is not working so should not be receiving a paycheck!

I answer to part of your question, there is a piece of legislation known as Title 35. This clearly defines the roles, responsibilities and qualifications for some one in this position, and as such, precludes the county from farming the position out to a temp. Emergency services is not a cheap low-grade insurance company....in other words it's not so easy a caveman can do it. I do agree the any suspension of an employee pending criminal action should be without pay.

I agree he should not be getting paid while off. But don't hire anyone to do his job.. Just divvy up his wage between the 4 or 5 others that are already working there until we find out that HE IS INNOCENT, the WHEN he returns to work , the pay returns to him. PROBLEM SOLVED ..

This meeting was cancelled due to lack of registration by Local EMC's.

How about we look at his paid leave as compensation for the years of volunteer work he put in to protect and save you thankless people.
