Bradford Water Authority Applies For $195,000. State Grant To Extend City Water To Residents Whose Wells Were Ruined By Drilling Company

In other business, the authority announced its application for a $195,000 safe water grant through State Rep. Martin Causer, R-Turtlepoint, to bring city water to the disgruntled residents of Hedgehog Lane.

In May, Ohio-based Schreiner Oil and Gas Inc. was deemed responsible for contaminating seven water wells on Hedgehog Lane due to drilling over the last several months. Benjamin specified that the grant would only go toward about 15 lower-elevation homes on the hilly road. More....

So in a sense, once again, the taxpayer is bailing out a drilling company? Why can't the company that caused the problem fix it without a bailout? (grant probably funded by public money)

Aren't the drillers responsible for fixing contaminated wells? I received a notice a while ago from a driller indicating they would fix any water well problems encountered from drilling near my property.

So now, the customers who never had a water bill before, now are going to have another monthly bill for someone else contaminating their water. Are the drillers in kahootz with the water co?
