Fire Alarm At Time Warner National Data Center In Coudersport, PA

At 6:26 PM on Thursday, Coudersport firefighters responded again for a general fire alarm at the Time Warner National Data Center at 512 Bank Street in the Boro.

An on scene report indicated nothing showing from the outside of the building. A chief issued a recall after the building was checked out.

This is the third alarm from that location in the last week. The first alarm was last Saturday at 9:00 am and again at 11:00 pm on Sunday.

The previous calls were also false alarms.

Perhaps the company would fix their alarm system if our fire dept started charging them for each false alarm they have to respond to. Our volunteer firefighters are brave individualsl who leave their homes to respond to calls. Their time is valuable and when they have to respond repeatedly to false alarms they should be rewarded for it.

I think after 3 false alarms the state police issue a fine.

Or someone could setup a procedure while the known problems are going on and just call the TW building that is manned 24x7 and ask is the building really on fire this time? Same goes for TW they could be calling someone at the same time. Most large alarm systems like this are done by a contracted company that for sure needs to get things fixed.

what I'd like to know is where was the person with the key to the locked doors, as in a similar case with the hitorical society structure fire alarm and they had to wait for someone with the keys to unlock the place for inspection, had there been an actual fire the building would have burnt to the ground before the key holder person arrived, that would be to simple to leave a key in the custody of the local police department

Fines are issued for repetitive false alarms.

fines can be issued for those types of situations. the only problem is that the local fire department doesn't receive any of the money. it all goes to the state
