Can someone explain how it went from being no injuries to needing a medic after the Chief on scene recalled the medic?

yeah i might be able to explain it.

1) shinglehouse chief is not an emt so he probably shouldn't be making that type of call.

2) if there was some type of possible brain injury then the medics would be called back even after a recall.

sometimes you can't tell right away what type of injuries there are. shinglehouse chief should of just let the medics resond instead of recalling them then calling them back.

the four chiefs have no medical training they always recall when the medics are needed when they get half way to the hospital then they decide they need the medics.

Why do you guys, who serve with emt's/fire dept/ect, talk about this stuff on here?? Don't you have meetings where these issues are handled as a group rather than airing them on public blogs??

It looks to me that the previous posters do not know what they are talking about, so please don't confuse them with real emergancy personal..

Sometimes politics get in the way of performing duties. As tax funded employees it seems like making these issues known to the public is acceptable.

The fire chief of Shinglehouse is a past EMT. An assistant chief is also a past EMT. The patient refused treatment at first until the ass't chief talked him into getting checked out because he knew him and his past medical history. I'm sure none of the people posting comments here was there and didn't know the situation. Ignorance is bliss, once again!
