Admitting When You're WrongAs a Christian parent, you are given many opportunities to show God's love to your children. One of the best ways we can point our kids to their heavenly Father is by confessing our sin and asking forgiveness. When my children were growing up, one of the biggest favors I did for myself and my children was to be willing to admit when I was wrong. God gave me the wisdom to see that saying "I'm Sorry" is important - I was not always right, and kids know it when you are wrong. Failing to admit your error builds resentment in them, and after a time, it turns to bitterness. Today, because of this and the fact that I never played "Favorites," our family is strong and loving. My grown children support each other and get along so well, and are so very good to my husband and me. As a parent, I made many mistakes. I am so very grateful for God's forgiveness of me and for teaching my children how to forgive through my willingness to apologize, and ask their forgiveness. Now they know how to relate to each other in that same way. Families aren't about "Everyone being perfect" - they are about seeing the flaws and forgiving anyhow.
