Casting Call For Movie "Unstoppable" Set For Thursday In Port Allegany

Open casting call for people interested in playing extras in “Unstoppable” slated for Port Allegany

Are you looking for a chance at 15 minutes of fame?

An open casting call for people interested in playing extras in the 20th Century Fox movie “Unstoppable” will be held in Port Allegany from noon to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Veterans Club at 4743 Route 155 South.

The movie stars Denzel Washington and Chris Pine, and will be directed by Tony Scott, who is the talent behind movies such as “The Taking of Pelham 123,” “Top Gun” and “Enemy of the State.”

“We’ll be filming in Eldred, Emporium and Port Allegany,” said Casting Director Billy Dowd. “We’re coming up your way for about three weeks.”

No one under 18 will be cast. Anyone planning to attend should bring a recent, non-returnable photo and be prepared to fill out a registration form. The entire visit to the casting call will take about five minutes, Dowd said. More...

That is awesome. They're filming a movie there? Man I wish i could be home for that.

This is for next Thursday the 13th?

I see they are not filming in Roulette or Austin. Guess too many drunks, crooks and "wife beates" there.

This gives a chance for the majority of McKean County to shine.

Maybe because the railroad does not go through those two towns. but I am sure the will let you be extras in the movies. I am so glad to see you people are so immature and have nothing better to do than to bash Roulette and Austin. You may grow up someday!! (I doubt it though)

Look 11:26 why don't worry about your own town. Comments like that just show how ignorant you truly are. I've said it before I'm tired of people running down towns they don't even live in. And the fact that you take an article like this and turn it into an insult is just idiotic. Know other people are going to fallow your bad example and this is going to be another bash fest. My 1st Sergeant gave us some good advice today. "Never pass up an opportunity to shut up." If you just shoot off at the mouth you just cause more unneeded conflict. And posting Anonymously shows that you’re afraid of what someone might think of you, and you can't handle that.

You say roulette and Austin are bad? Lets see this was on here today A Kane man was charged with Driving Under the Influence very early Friday morning on Highland Road in Wetmore Township, near Kane. And this Bradford City Police are investigating a reported car jacking at 11:15 last night in a Barbour Street parking lot. WOW all in McKean County.

there bashin roulette and austin however maybe there goin to port because they need an extra arsonist and well we know port has atleaste one (burned down the old vets club) or maybe they need a drug dealer loads of them in mckean county

Anonymous said...

Maybe there's not a train going through Roulette and Austin but we will soon have the subway route from Coudersport.

Anonymous said...

Duh, there is no subway route coming to the area, was that suppose to be a joke?
Dale, I love the quote from your Sergeant, "Never pass up an opportunity to shut up", excellent advice!

"It’s exciting that we’re coming up there,” Dowd said. “I might see someone who is a good character.”

Yea, if it's one thing we are top heavy with, it's Characters.....

Me too, I can't wait for the Subway to begin construction, it'll cut my commute time down. My lawayer told me they are already tking the right of ways with eminent domain proceedings. Can't wait, should be a big boost....

I was an Army brat, can still remember "taps" being played, gives me goosebumps...can still remember and apply a lot of things learned from being raised in an environment where rules and regulations are expected and accepted!

As far as the "subway"...there is one in Coudy and they make great subs! This was and is a joke.

Anonymous said...

I bet Jimmy Bruzzi will be one of the first to sign up.

Anonymous said...

by the sounds of it everyone on this blog should apply for a role in the movie because you all sound like characters to me and once again who cares what goes on in other towns because someday you will get caught for something and god forbid someone make fun of you on here

Bao said...

SPC Fry has the best advice so far, and please, stop this noncence about a subway, that started with the antique train car being delivered to Coudersport, theres no subway, there will never be a subway

Ok people, did you ever think about this? There is a casting call for Port Allegany, for a movie which hasn't happened yet. Casting agents and other movie personnel like to scour the local media to learn a little bit more about the area in which they will be possibly filming and selecting extras. They probably have come across this website and are reading all of the needless town bashing that is going on and they get a bad vibe about the people and the area. They just might pass and decide to film somewhere else.

Let's end this pointless town bashing because all it is doing is upsetting people and it is keeping nice people and businesses away. All of Potter and McKean county people need to stick together to try and make our area look and seem as great as possible to keep tourism up, and bring in needed money from outside sources such as movie production companies and tourists.

Wouldn't you all agree? Just my 2 cents.

Oh yes....I'm certain that the high dollar Hollywood talent agents and directors are checking this blog to see what kind of people they have to deal with when they get here.......I heard that Steven Spielberg was posting an ad on this site and sylvester Stallone started shopping at The Gallery after he saw the advertisement here.

I did not say directors Mr. Sarcastic. I said casting agents who work for the film companies. They have a big input in where people are chosen and what places are being filmed. How do you think I know so much about it? My wife is one of the people who works for Millbrook Production Company.

My Son SPC Dale Fry as my whole family have the most admoration for the people of Roulette. The Habitat For Humanity House in Roulette had ground breaking on July 11, 2009 and today Aug. 8, 2009 the walls ans rafters are done. This house will be completed by Dec. 15, 2009. not two years later as other towns have taken becuase getting support was a tooth puller. You have the right to comment on events, but is negitive comments neccasary. If you have a comment, be proud of it and put your name on it. If all you have to do is sit around and give negitive comment on the great updated coverage that Jim does on this site whether good or bad, maybe you should get up from your computer and get out and support your town by joining a fire dept., ambulance dept., become a scout leader, or other organizations in your town that supports your town. I feel that those who don't help their town have the right to give negitive comments on their town or any other town. BE REPECTED, PUT YOUR NAME ON YOUR COMMENTS.

Go Duane!! Brad

Mr Realistic said...

Sorry Duane....but you are wrong. The 10 amendments to the constitution give us a lot of rights and one of those is "Freedom of Speech". It doesn't say freedom of speech only if you post your name.

There is no registration required for this site......so who really knows if the poster is who they say they are? This has been brought up a multitude of times on this "blog". Are you really Duane Fry? I could sign my post as Bill Gates, do you think that is who I really am??? C'mon...be realistic....

barack obama said...

you all are correct so watch what you say about your towns

Duane Fry said...

The freedom of speech has been protect by those of us that have served and those who are still serveing our county. There is too much negitivity in the world today without someone whiching to stir something up. Maybe had you been in the military or volunteer helping your community you would feel affended by the words you yourself write. Get positive and be a contibuter to the wellfair of the communities with what you write, not someone who likes to get people aggitated for nothing beter to do. If you don't know if I am who I say I am look me up call me. I am as real as it gets.
I beleive JIM that if this person wishes to continue to negitively contributes to this site maybe his comment should be ommitted. By the way all computers have a computer address which is traceable.

SPC. Fry, Dale E said...

My father is right. If you contributed to your community you would feel affended by some of the comments on this site. Now I'm all for the freedom of speech. Heck I'm one the people defending it for you. What me and my father are trying to say about putting your name to a comment is that you write something negitive and won't take responcibility for it.

actually some of these blogs are from volunteer fireman themselves but if you come on here to be positive you are lying because everyone i know comes on here to nibshit and see whats going on so as for that i have to get back to donating time to my community.

Anonymous said...

So what are you going to do?Trace his computer, hunt him down and break his keyboard? You seem a little out there too.Should you be ommitted?
Relax it is a blog site with varied opinions. If everyone thought the same we would be little clones of one another.

Duane Fry said...

My suggesting of Computer IP address was if that individual didn't beleive I am who I say I am, then track it if he can. I am not out to get anyone. That is the way you interpute the blog. Sorry there are individuals who find it entertaning to stir up those who do someting for their community and friends. It's not worth blogging when some only read into it what they want it to read.

To the friday poster about Jimmy Bruzzi. I saw him and other locals in plays in coudersport years ago, they all did great jobs.Rumor has it that he was an extra in a movie trailer and was used in a documentary that is going to be on, I think, but not sure, PBS this fall sometime. Supposedly another man from coudersport was also used, along with a known actor We'll have to wait and see, if true, good for them. But good luck to any and all that try out for unstoppable.

Anonymous said...

First off yes Duane Fry is like he write above as real as it gets.
Second, Jimmie Bruzzi was really good in the local plays over the years and he was going to have a big part to play in Little Chicago until that was turned from a movie into a documentary.
We have some other good actors around here. Smitty was really good in some of the plays like when he was Available Jones in Lil Abner. They should let him try out.
As far as getting a subway, that is a great plan and people on here need to stop talking against it or the whole thing could get nixxed.

Anonymous said...

I Think some people really do expect a subway to come to the area!! Lol! Join the local snowmobile club! That's the only sub"snow way" comin to town!! Brad

Anonymous said...

I agree on all three:
Smitty is a good actor.
Jimmie Bruzzi would be a good choice for the movie.
Duane Fry is as real as it gets.

I just heard about this post today at work, don't know how I missed it. I'm a theater buff and living here in Mckean County, you don't get to see much broadway!!! That theater group that coudy had was great, really enjoyed yjere plays. I love guys and dolls. Went to coudy to see it and went to bradford a week or two later. ABSOLUTELY NO COMPARISON. Coudy's was FANTASTIC and Jim Bruzzi played Big Julie, WOW, DID HE PLAY HIM. IN bradford, it seemed like the same character was a woose. Those actors all did well in all of the plays. Word around Bradford area is that 2 men from coudersport were involved in the trailer for little chicago and they were filmed in a documentary about prohibition. I read in the era a story last dec. and it listed Jim bruzzi in the credits. YAHOO! I don't know him personally, but what an actor, He deserves a good shot at UNSTOPPABLE. nOT JUST AN EXTRA, BUT SOMETHING WITH MEAT. hE IS VERY TALENTED, BUT LIVES IN AN AREA THAT BREAKS JUST DON'T HAPPEN.
i TOO HAVE HEARD THAT HE WAS GOING TO BE IN LITTLE CHICAGO, the movie, my understanding is the documentary is a spin off from the movie and movie will be filmed. OOPS just noticed, must have hit caps lock! Well anyway, if your'e out there jim , go for unstoppable and break a leg!! you're darn good at acting, an extra with denzel washington, that's not shabby, YOU CAN DO IT! Who knows, maybe this area will get some GOOD news for a change. Well enoughs enough and thank you Jim and your other theater members for all the enjoyment that you provided me with.
IF YOU TRYOUT, BREAK A LEG AND GIVEM H*LL

Anonymous said...

Oh it pains me so to agree with Mr Sarcastic, but I do.

"I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it,"
Evelyn Beatrice Hall

Posting your name will only open you up to potential abuse, much like the democratic operative are vilifying the people who are speaking out at the town meetings. They are finding out who they are and harassing them at home and on blogs in public

Anonymous said...

I had the wonderful experience of meeting Jimmie Bruzzi during the filming of the movie trailer for little chicago, you're right, he is very good at acting, it just seems second nature to him, Not only can he act, but boy,,, WHAT A GENTLEMAN!! Kind, curteous, one heck of a sense of humor and just enjoyable to be around. Personally, I think he should have a part in UNSTOPPABLE, as he would do well in whatever is asked of him. Suprized that none of you ladies over in the coudy area have snagged him, he's definitely a great catch from what i've seen of him. Oh the other man from coudy, with Jimmie was Tom Wilson. If you try out Jimmie or tom, break a leg!!!

This is a great opportunity! I hope that lots of people applied--and how cool would it be to have our own firemen playing firemen?!
