Jennie "Aunt Jennie" (Crattie) McCoy, 96, Rew, PA

Jennie "Aunt Jennie" (Crattie) McCoy, 96, of 1229 Summit Road, Rew, passed away Tuesday, August 11th, 2009 at the Hamot Medical Center in Erie.

Born April 22, 1913, in Rew, she was a daughter of the late John and Jennie (Brock) Crattie.

On December 21, 1974 in the Rew United Methodist Church she married Raymond W. "Barney" McCoy who died September 12. 1981.

She was a member of the Rew United Methodist Church for over 90 years and held various offices in the church.

Mrs. McCoy was a 1931 graduate of Bradford High School and a 1933 graduate of Bryant & Stratton in Buffalo. For seven years she worked at Johnson's Bakery in Olean and for four years at the munition plant in Eldred. She was the second employee hired at the Bradford plant of Corning Glass in 1944 and retired as a quality control inspector in 1975.

She loved baking, gardening and was affectionally known to everyone as "Aunt Jennie".

Mrs. McCoy is survived by two step children, many nieces and nephews and several grand nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister, six brothers and four step children.

Family will be receiving friends on Friday, August 14, 2009 from 6:00 to 8:00PM in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc. East Main St. and again on Saturday, August 15th from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at which time funeral and committal services will be held with Rev. Fred Moore, associate pastor of the Bradford Area Parish officiating.

Burial will be in McKean Memorial Park.
