Media Man Jailed After Threatening Six With Loaded Shotgun

Night Of Terror
Coudersport State Police have released the details of an incident at a camp at 57 Cemetery Lane in the Village of Costello, Sylvania Township, that happened overnight on August 15 & 16th when a Media, PA man threatened six people with a loaded shotgun.

Patrick Alan Brown, 43, of 509 Woodland Avenue, Media, PA, is accused of pointing a loaded shotgun at the chest of Leon McClellan, 55, of Glasgow, PA and at the throat of Nancy Shutt, 46, of Flinton, PA at a location near 57 Cemetery Lane. Brown then walked away and fired a shot into the air.

Later on that night, Brown threatened to shoot a 65 year old female, and 14, 17 and 18 year old males, with a shotgun and pointed it at them at various points during the night. Those victims, all of whom were members of his family and not named by troopers, fled the camp and contacted PSP Coudersport.

Troopers responded and set up a perimeter around the structure and engaged Brown in conversation on the front porch of the camp. Brown threatened suicide to the responding troopers.

Troopers tasered Brown and took him into custody. A loaded 12 gauge shotgun was found just inside the front door of the camp. He was committed for a psychiatric exam at a local hospital.

Upon his release he was returned to the custody of PSP Coudersport where he was charged with: Terroristic Threats (Felony 3); Terroristic Threats (Misdemeanor 1); Simple Assault (Misdemeanor 2) (2 counts); Recklessly Endangering Another Person (Misdemeanor 2) (2 counts); and Harassment (Summary).

On August 19, Brown was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Delores Bristol where he was remanded to the Potter County Jail in lieu of $30,000.00 cash bail. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled before Judge Bristol for September 24 at 1:30 PM.

Could we please have spell check added to this site so I don't have to decipher some posts? These two aren't as bad as some. Others are like a foreign language.

10:33 - How can we bitch? We're made to depend on the State Police for this sort of thing. Do you think even your average citizen would allow this to go on if they could do something about it? I know I wouldn't. By the way, this is an incident where the State Police SHOULD have been called (it's what they're paid to do) which is in contrast to driving around town, and stalking/harassing people because it's after 2:00AM. Get a clue buddy!
