New Control Panel For Locks At The PC Jail

Potter County Sheriff Ken Sauley updated county leaders on developments at the county jail and the sheriff’s office during the monthly county management team meeting Tuesday morning at the Gunzburger Building. The Potter County Commissioners initiated the monthly sessions earlier this year to improve communications among county departments and gather input on policies and initiatives.

Sheriff Sauley said a new control panel will be installed at the jail next week to replace a failing system for controlling security systems, primarily locks and doors.

He and Deputy Warden Angela Milford have been working on upgrades to physician and nursing services at the jail, Sauley reported, and they’re discussing a cooperative effort with other Potter County departments to implement an exercise program for inmates.

Sheriff Sauley also told the group that his department’s radio communication system has been improved, extending the reach of the base unit at the sheriff’s office in the courthouse. Potter County Today

yes! waste more money on the jail system when the school systems need it more.

It's still operated as a hotel. Why don't they send the criminals to State Prison. Simple. We would have less guards and PO. That's the real reason. Isn't that so Judge?

Some people have no clue. Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.

I still think Mickey Mouse would do a fine job in office.

I wish some of you would get the facts straight before writing in here. I worked for the Sheriff's Dept. as Assistant Matron with Sheriff Dale Cogley and Ken Sauley and have seen the control panel. It's used to open and close locks, for SECURITY. If I'm correct I believe this was paid for through a grant written by Sheriff Sauley, and not taken out of the general fund.

My experience dealing with the jail would resemble an episode of the Mickey Mouse Club....as a visitor, not an inmate.

Where does the grant money come from? It certainly doesn't grow on trees!

i guess grant money does grow on trees. it must if it is not tax money.

i love the comment about an exersise progam at the jail. i guess the indoor rec yard in the winter and the outdoor yard just must not be enough for our fine criminal friends. must be if it don't involve molesting a child or breaking in some where to steal they must need professional help to show them how to do it
