Oliver C. Gross, 95, of 734 Clear Creek Rd., Emporium, PA

Oliver C. Gross, 95, of 734 Clear Creek Rd., Emporium died at Elk Regional Health Center, St. Marys on Tuesday (August 25, 2009) morning. He was born Feb. 15, 1914 in Emporium a son of the late George W. and Carrie E. Spech Gross. On November 28, 1931 in Coudersport he married Marian Roynan Gross, who Survives.

Mr. Gross graduated from Emporium High School. He owned the former Gross Grocery Store, on Vine Street, for many years. He & a partner opened the former Rich Valley Cattle Company which sold meat to many local homes and businesses. Years ago he was very active in the Emporium Rotary Club. He enjoyed riding horses & road in many parades. He and his wife enjoyed spending winters in Florida for the last twenty-six years. He and his wife also enjoyed dancing for many years, winning many dance competitions throughout the area. He was Methodist by faith.

There will be No Visitation.

Private Memorial Service at the convenience of the family at Newton Cemetery in Emporium.
