Poker Run Raises $1,491.00 For Camp Cadet Program

48 Bikes participated in a poker run to benefit
Camp Cadet

Camp Cadet is an annual camp for kids at Mansfield
University put on by the Pennsylvania State Police
that gives the kids a sample of the programs of the
PSP and they go through some of the training that
the troopers do to become troopers. The camp is a
positive roll model for the youngsters.

A PA State Police helicopter from Montoursville was
on hand
for the Poker Run.

The weather finally cooperated to have a Poker Run without rain! The NORTHERN TIER CAMP CADET PROGRAM benefited from the beautiful day.

Saturday, August 1st, forty eight bikes left Larry's Sports Center around 11:15, led by the American Eagles Motorcycle Club. Charlie & Phill Clark led the group through Galeton, to Germania, Carter Camp and on to Cross Forks. After a short stop they left heading back out of Cross Forks to Cherry Springs back out to Route 6 and headed east back to Larry's.

When they arrived back they enjoyed a pulled pork BBQ lunch, won door prizes and tried to win items in a Chinese Auction.

The Pennsylvania State Police helicopter flew in from Montoursville, also on hand was a 1938 Plymouth Police car.

Lewisville Lodge members did children's finger printing free of charge

The group was introduced to the Northern Tier Camp Cadet Directors; Scott Henry & Lisa Lindquist, the events chairpersons Brian Harmon & Robin Freeman and the two latest Honor Cadets from Potter County, Nic Ayers who left on Sunday Aug. 2nd for the Commissioners Honor Camp in Hershey, PA and Elizabeth Burd who will go to the Honor Camp next August.

Brian & Robin thanked the runs sponsors: Cheryl Main & Larrys Sports Center & Bert Cleer with High Lander Energy. They also thanked everyone who helped at the event, collected items for door prizes and for the Chinese Auction and to everyone who donated items.

The event raised $1491.00 for the Camp.

The next two fund raisers will be Golf Tournaments. The first in Cameron County on September 9th and in Tioga County on September 25th. Any questions please contact Robin Freeman 814-558-3777
